Clear space dictates the area in whichno other content may be placed suchas overlapping imagery or text.To determine the proper amount ofclear space for the ALFC logo, copythe size of the “A” in the word“Abundant” as shown above and placeit around the logo. Anything within thearea of the “A” is to be consideredreserved real-estate for clear space.(figure 1.1)

Clear space can be filled by abackground image so long as it doesnot distract from the logo.

Imagery Rules

2011 STYLE GUIDE - CONFIDENTIAL

ALFC imagery must emulate life through professional quality imagery featuring multi-ethnic individuals. Imagery featuring outdatedtechnology, outdated hairstyles, outdatedclothing, or outdated vehicles must never beused in print or web designs*.

Lifestyle imagery should represent unity, suchas in a group shot. An image featuring asingle individual should be avoided if possibleunless used in a bio. Lifestyle imagery shouldfeature individuals in casual attire or Sundaymorning attire. Business attire or stagedimages that depict a business setting shouldbe avoided. Individuals gender must beobvious to be used in any format.

Clipart is an unacceptableformat of imagery for ALFC and must besubstituted by a “real life” image. However,vector graphics used as part of a montageare acceptable.

*Outdated images may be used totarget a specific theme. For example, aministry hosting a 70’s themed event mightwant to have advertisements of individualsdressed in 70’s attire.

Avoid Substitute
