How to select an MBA college? 1) Find out the factor that matters the most to you – Are you looking for a college that offers best placement or a college that is near your home? Or a college that offers a certain specialization? The college that you will select will largely depend on your preferences. 2) MBA or PGDM – The MBA degree is more widely recognized. But private institutes not affiliated to university cannot offer an MBA degree in India. Do your research before you decide which one to go for. 3) Alumni Network – Many smaller institutes may not have a strong alumni network. But with the advent of social media reaching out to alums is no longer difficult. Alums working in certain companies can open door to lucrative job opportunities. Also bear in mind that landing a job through reference is much easier. 4) Institute Focus – But many of these are known for their focus on certain streams. For example there are many institutes that target jobs in banks while others target sales jobs in FMCG companies. There are institutes targeting entry level roles in IT companies and so on.
