How to Get Started
Visit the District volunteer program webpage https://bit.ly/2rAjkbI
or scan the QR Code above.
Choose “For Volunteers” on the left.
Sign up at John Marshall Elementary, under Step 1.
If you think you’ll be volunteering in the classroom often or going on a
field trip, also do Step 2 (criminal background check).
When school starts, log into your account at myvolunteerpage.com
and sign up!

How does it work? *Visit the Wausau School District website at www.wausauschools.org.
*Look under the “Parents” menu for “Volunteer Opportunities” or scan QR Code.
*Select “For Volunteers” in the left hand column.
*Choose the school you want to volunteer at from the pull down menu.
*VIEW AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES AT YOUR SCHOOL! (opportunities may not appear until
after the school year begins)
What do you do if you find something you’d like to volunteer for? *Have you already created a username and password? If so, select log in on the
right side of the opportunities page and skip to
**New to the system? Select sign up on the right side of the page, create a
username/password and enter all required information. BE SURE TO REVIEW THE
VOLUNTEER HANDBOOK!
*Select the opportunity you’re interested in and sign up!
*PLEASE NOTE Don’t forget to log back in to see if you have been assigned and to
confirm you’re still available.
DON’T FORGET, IF YOU NEED A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK, THAT IS A SEPARATE PROCESS FOUND UNDER STEP 2 ON THE “FOR VOLUNTEERS” WEBPAGE.
Some opportunities will require a criminal background check.
*ongoing volunteer activities involving students and field trip chaperones are required to have criminal background checks. Online listings will indicate if needed. *if you have had a criminal background check done, and have been a volunteer at least once a year since the check’s completion, you DO NOT need to have another. *to complete a check visit the ONE For Volunteers page & select the link under Step 2.
