How To Desktop or Application Share
Q: What is Desktop Sharing vs. Application Sharing?
A: Desktop sharing mirrors everything opened on your desktop.
A: Application sharing mirrors one application (file) opened on your desktop. Uses less bandwidth.
Q: Can attendees share their desktops?
A: Yes, if the Current Presenter invites an attendee to share.
Q: What is needed to Desktop or Application Share?
A: Java is needed to “share” so the recommended method is to use “Join Using VL” App, but “sharing” can be done when you “Join Using Browser” as well. You will be prompted to “allow” Java each time you share.
Q: From where do attendees see a desktop or application that is shared?
A: From Pane 2. They will need to maximize Pane 2 and, depending upon the size of each users screen, they may also minimize the right side bar for more viewing room.
Q: If I am using Server Side Recording (SSR) and “sharing”, will that be viewable in the recording?
A: Yes, however, the person who is “sharing” their desktop must maximize Pane 2 and collapse the right side bar so that entire screen is picked up in the recording.
