How to create a presentation

Create an outline

1. State your objective

2. Create a short title for each step

3. Type each title in the outline view

Go to the Slide Sorter

• Add short details or directions to each slide.

• Make sure that the letters are 32 point or larger.

• Consider interactive materials instead of basic notes or simple information.

• Rearrange the order of the slides if necessary by dropping and dragging.

Background

• Right click on the screen and decide on colors.

• You need the text and background to contrast sharply with each other.

• Avoid shaded or patterned backgrounds. They are difficult to see.

Animation

• Click on each item and decide how you want them to appear. Avoid unnecessary sounds since they can become irritating and distracting to others.

• Avoid automatic timing, since these will be interactive presentations.

• Play with graphics, sounds, and other effects only when the content is completed.

Final Notes

• Save your presentation often.• Avoid unnecessary graphics and sounds

since they make your files very large.• Print out an outline view each time you

finish working in case you lose the presentation.

• Have someone else look at the final product to be sure that it flows and makes sense.
