3. Choose your slide design by clicking Design on the formatting toolbar.

4. After clicking Design, the Slide Design task pane will appear on the right hand side of the screen.

8. Add clipart to the slide by dragging and dropping, selecting the arrow that appears once you select the clipart, or by right clicking on the clipart. a. 3 Ways to Insert Clipart 1. Drag and drop the clipart to its designated place.

2. Select the arrow that appears once you select the clipart, and select the command of your choice. 3. Or right click on the clipart and select the command of your choice.

Hint: You can add clipart after you have inserted all of your text and proofread, so being

CREATIVE would come last.

9. You can also change the Slide Layout to fit your needs.

10. Slide Transitions can also be used to make a presentation more effective. (You will find this option under Slide Show on your toolbar)

Hint: Having slide transitions that are too active can be distracting, so try to keep it simple. A popular slide transition is Fade Smoothly with the speed set on Medium and

with no sound. Make sure you Apply to All Slides.

11. Custom Animations can also be applied to each slide to display information when you want it to! a. Located under Slide Show on your toolbar b. Select the text c. Apply a custom animation to the text of your choice Hint: Fly In is a popular custom animation that will allow your notes to appear when you click the mouse. This allows the students to keep up with notes and to discuss without

going ahead of the teacher.

On this slide, each bullet was selected separately to apply Fly In at different times;

therefore, the text will only appear when the teachers wants to view the information.

Note: Once you have completed making your PowerPoint presentation more functional, you can save it and close it.
