Making Explanations ClearThe average person speaks at a rate of 150 words per minute or 9000 words per hour.

If you listened to 9000 words on a topic that was new to you, how would you know what was critical and what was not?

Unless the trainer does something to emphasize the key points, the listener may miss them altogether.What to identify: Some key questions What is absolutely essential to meet the learning objectives? What is difficult to learn? Are safety factors involved in the task? Are you aware of problems the learners have experienced with the task youre training them to perform?

Ways to emphasize key points
