Introduction of the Company

Reederei Claus Peter Offen was founded back in 1971

with the purchase of the first general cargo vessel

at a public auction

The company is located

in the heart of Hamburg,

the German center of

maritime industry

The fleet consist of container

vessels ranking from 1.500 TEU

up to 14.000 plus TEU


Of the more than 120

vessels strong fleet abt.

100 ships are on the water

and have been built in

Germany and Korea.

Abt. 20 vessels are under

construction at yards in

Korea and Romania.


The first couple of Mega Box Container vessels

have been delivered and entered successful into service


In 2007 Mr. Offen decided to convert 8 options for 1.800

TEU Container ships at Hyundai Mipo Shipyard in Korea

to 36.000 dwt IMO II/ III Chemical and Product Tankers

Offen Tankers was founded


Later in 2007 a fresh order for a newbuilding series of

8 x 52.000 dwt IMO III Chemical and Product Tankers was placed

on the same yard, Hyundai Mipo Shipyard in Korea,

to complete the fleet of 16 tankers up to 2011.

(GmbH & Co.) KG

Offen Bulkers was founded

4 x 180.000 dwt Cape size Bulk Carrier with deliveries in

2010 and 2011 are constructed at Daewoo Shipyards in

Korea and Romania.
