Team short story analysis

How do we arrange the slides?

First Slide/Scene

• Title of the story

• Author

• Interesting background information about the author

(Read the preview material before the story)

• A BRIEF summary of your story. It should be no more than 10 sentences.

Second Slide / Scene

• Literary elements

• Only ONE element per slide

• You may have more than one slide per element

• Include textual evidence and page numbers.

Slides 3-9

• Your team’s opinion of the story.

– Would you recommend it?

– What are the good points of the story?

– What are the weak points of the story?

– Why do you feel this way?

Last Slide / Scene

• Focuses on one literary element only

• Includes textual support for each element

• May include graphics for emphasis or clarification including your plot diagram, picture of setting ,etc.

NOTE: your presentation should not be a mechanical reading of material on your presentation slides OR a retelling of the plot of the stories that you read. Rather, your slides should support your lecture. You may bring in notes cards to work from as your present.

There are dozens of sites and tools available. The best options allow everyone to collaborate and communicate asynchronously.

• You will turn in your

1. Summary

2. Short story evaluation papers including the storyboard

3. Hard copy of slides OR share/email link (make sure I have access!!!)

4. Infographic poster (separate from the presentation itself)

5. Team reflection to include who did what job, how successful your group was, and what you would change or do differently next time

– I will give you a rubric in the next couple of days for your presentation!!!

The day of your presentation…

Presentations will take place Thursday October 5th!
