Make your bathrooms easily navigatable. If your guests are sharing your bathroom then clean & organise so they do not feel as if they are intruding. If they have their own guest bathroom, provide them with all the essentials that they have probably forgotten.
ADD SOME ENTERTAINMENT Leave a few books or magazines for
your guests to peruse.
AIM FOR A COMFORTABLE SLEEPGive your guests all they will need to help them get a good nights sleep. If not, then you're the one who will have to listen to them complain. New pillows & some fresh sheets should do it.

A BEDSIDE TABLE & LIGHT- you can go for a soft lamp shade or a desk style light for those who like to read.

A spare key - in case they want to come & go.
ADD HOLIDAY FLAIR Your guests are most likely visiting for
Christmas or New Year so decorate and get into the spirit.
Do you have guests coming in for the holidays and one incredibly messy, unkept guest bedroom for them to sleep in? Guest bedrooms tend to be the less decorated rooms in a house because they're the least lived in. But by doing something as simple as covering the walls or switching the bedspread, you can change the whole atmosphere and create a room any family member or friend would be happy to stay in. Here are a few things you may have forgotten.

or simply invest in a new shower head
The key to a good New Year's Resolution is making it achievable! Don't plan a massive renovation, instead choose one room or one thing to improve upon in your home and make that your goal.
The first step is to make yourself a TO DO LIST of all the things that need to be fixed or replaced in the house. Prioritise urgent home fixes - if you want to repaint your bedroom but your roof leaks, you should probably fix the roof first. Here's House Prouds top home improvement to do list for your home.

New Year’s RESOLUTIONS
Don't like your walls but can't afford to change them? Just cover them with eye catching
art works.
• Landscape the garden
• Change dated door hardware
• Fit new light switch covers throughout the house
• Deep clean all windows
• Replace old light shades & fan fittings
• Sand back and lacker timber floors
• Steam clean the carpets
• Repair any holes or damage in walls
• For a new look use concrete paint to redo the outdoor area.
• Replace worn window dressings with new ones to give a room a fresh look.
• Replace and redo discoloured grouting
In-ground pool
If you can't do any renovations or upgrades this year, make your goal to save money and tackle these projects next year.

Seeds or plants
First off, the area should be completely void of grass, flowers, bushes, roots, or trees. Build your garden bed upside down and on a flat, hard surface.
1. Set a piece of 120cm pine on its thin edge on the ground. Place a square 31cm tall post at one end. Secure square post with 2 x screws. Repeat at other end of wood. Repeat with second 120cm piece of wood.
2. Join your other two 120cm pieces of wood to these and secure with 2 x screws. Now you have a box.
3. Add another layer of 120cm pieces of wood and use 2 x screws to secure them to the square posts already attached to the bottom square.
OPTIONAL: You can line the bottom of the box with black plastic or leave it. If you choose to line your box use a heavy duty staple gun or nails to secure it.
4. Fill your garden bed with a combination of garden soil, compost and fertiliser. Plant your seeds or plants and you are finished.
FOR A CHALLENGE!A raised garden bed conserves moisture &
suppresses weed growth.
Plants can be grown
close together so yields
go up and water-use
efficiency is maximised.

Our first stop once inside the park was to check out the new Junior Zone! It looked like so much fun! There were heaps of families around enjoying the watery fun, with plenty to keep all those little adventurers busy!
The next ride we were keen to go on was Calypso Bay - this was fantastic! I couldn’t think of a better way to spend your time....relaxing while winding your way down the tranquil course!

SLIP, SLOP, SLAP: Sunscreen, hat, protective clothing, sunglasses.
Most of all - HAVE FUN!
In case your children wander off, agree on an easy to find meeting point in advance.
Get there early! This is to ensure a close and shady car park, and a shady resting spot for the family inside the park.
The Wave Pool
Happy Birthday Wet’n’Wild! The water park celebrates its 30th year and marks the occasion by opening the new Wet ‘n’ Wild Junior park. A kid-friendly zone that will keep the little ones entertained for hours! Perfect for the younger adventure seekers with scaled down versions of some of the most popular larger rides throughout the park. Miniature versions include rides older thrill seekers may recognise like the Tornado and the Aqua Racers.
A major draw-card that was very popular on our visit was the multilevel interactive play structure. With lots to do that will keep your kids entertained plus the peace of mind knowing that lifeguards patrol the area. With slides, water fountains and a giant tipping bucket as well as the ever popular wading pool, this area is equipped with everything that the kids could ever dream of in a water park. Parents and grandparents can even join in the fun on selected rides if given permission by their children.
4
Now this is what I call a thrill ride! Highly recommended for those who are seeking an adrenaline rush! For those who are a little less adventurous, why not go and watch your friends and family’s faces as they hurtle out of the tunnel.......priceless!
This would have to be one of the most popular attractions here at the park, who wouldn’t want to experience all the fun of the beach including the waves! Great fun for the whole family!

Check out the ALL NEW Wet’n’Wild Junior Park!!
Snacks! Bring your own water bottles, snacks and take advantage of the free BBQ’s.

Summer safety tips
Not all pets love water, but it's worth a try to see if yours does! Kid pools are cheap and can be filled and kept in the shade. No place for a pool? Throw down a wet towel in the shade so your pet can rest on to cool off.
Even though you might not feel like it, your dog still needs exercise in the heat of the summer. Try to walk or run your pooch in the early morning or late afternoon when it's cooled down a bit and overheating is less of a threat. Swimming is a great form of exercise for dogs. If you can get to a dog friendly beach or pool it will not only tire them out but keep you both cool.
FROZEN FRU IT CUBES
These are super fast and simple treats your pets are sure to enjoy. Use ice-cube trays for small dogs & cats. For the larger dogs who require a bit more of a challenge try ice-cream containers.
YOU CAN ADD• blueberries• strawberries• watermelon• carrot pieces• banana slices• peanut butter• cooked chicken piecesFill trays with water, chicken stock mixture or plain yoghurt. Place in freezer until frozen solid.
Early warning signs your pet is overheating
Panting hard and often
Sluggish or confused behaviour
Tongue hanging out and bright red
Suddenly sitting or stopping while walkingSearching for
water or cool surfaces
TIPS TO KEEP THEM COOL1 Frozen food & treats Use a plastic pool
Keep your pet inside when possible, or provide plenty of shade outside.FACT: pets can get sunburnt.
Time your walks
Keep your pet hydrated TIP: add ice cubes to their water bowls.
Grooming is important
Set up a fanTie a wet bandanna around your pets neck
If you have a cat or dog with long hair or a dense undercoat, a trip to the groomer can work wonders!

Word Sudoku puzzle
There are four bungalows in our cul-de-sac. They are made from these materials: straw, wood, brick and glass. Mrs Scott's bungalow is somewhere to the left of the wooden one and the third one along is brick. Mrs Umbrella owns a straw bungalow and Mr Tinsley does not live at either end, but lives somewhere to the right of the glass bungalow. Mr Wilshaw lives in the fourth bungalow, whilst the first bungalow is not made from straw.
Who lives where, and what is their bungalow made from?
