Community Builder P1-3: Machine Game P4-7: House Number (5mins)
Anytime Anywhere Learning At Mid Calder Primary we have Anytime Anywhere Learning, this means our
school iPads can connect to the internet so we can use the internet and apps to help us learn.
We want to be a Bring Your Own Device school, this means that children if they wanted to, with permission from their parents could bring their own device to school to help them learn, for example; tablets, phones, iPads, etc.
We are not at this stage this yet so today we would like to think about what we would have to do to use our own devices and the internet safely in school.
We also need to remember our rights as children: Article 16: Every child has the right to privacy. Article 17: Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of
sources.
Post-it Pledge (15 mins)
On a post-it write what you pledge to do in our school to show that you can be responsible and respectful when using Anytime Anywhere Learning and Bring Your Own Device. For example:
- I pledge to ask someone before I share their photo online.- I pledge to treat other child’s property with respect. - I pledge not to use social media in school. - I pledge to use the school iPads safely.
Write your name on the post-it.
In order to get into groups we will have a line up in the corridor – P1-P6. P7s will be the facilitator for your group.
