developed, which outline sequences of academic, career, and technical courses and trainingthat begin as early as ninth grade and lead to progressively higher levels of education and higher-skilled positions in specific industries or occupational sectors. (Perkins/Achieve Texas)

• A Career Pathway includes course work within a Program of Study that is academic, technical, and occupational in nature.(Achieve Texas)

• Course of Study - A course of study is a structured academic program that can result in a certificate or degree. (Achieve Texas)• Certification - to award a certificate to (a person) attesting to the completion of a course of study or the passing of a qualifying

examination.

§ Texas Achievement Plan- is an educational plan suggesting the high school courses a student should take to prepare successfully for graduation and transition into a profession or post-secondary educational experience. (Achieve Texas)

§ Articulated Course - An articulated course is a course at a high school that will fulfill a subject matter requirement at a college or university as well. An articulation agreed must be completed between the school district and college or univeristy.

§ Dual Credit - Dual credit is a process through which a student may earn high school credit for successfully completing a college course that provides advanced academic instruction beyond, or in greater depth than, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for a corresponding high school course.

§ Personal Graduation Plan – The state calls the Endorsement plan that has to be signed, the PGP. We will call it the SISD HB5 Endorsement Verification Form. We also have the Texas Achievement Plan or TAP. (HB5)
