Location

Hotel Raudaskrida is a family run 3 star country Hotel, at road 85. Its location offers suitable daytrips to several places of interest, like Akureyri, Eyjafjordur, Tjornespeninsula, Lake Myvatn, Dimmuborgir, Dettifoss, Asbyrgi, Hljodaklettar and Godafoss. We are also only a 20 minutes drive from the whale-center at Husavik.

There are great hiking and biking opportunities in our area. We have available good information about the nature and history of places of interest in our near surroundings in English and Icelandic. Bring your bike or we can supply you one free of charge.

We are only a 20 minutes drive from the Whale Center in Husavik

We can arrange angling licences and/or horseriding upon request

We offer hot tubs for our guests free of charge

Example of an ideal one day cycling trip

• Adaldalur Valley Circle (Appr. 40 km total)

• Enjoy the nature of Laxa salmon river and the birdlife, Old museum at farm Grenjadarstadur, and visit the inside of the Hydro-Power Plant at Laxarvirkjun for a guided tour, which often includes art gallery exhibitions.

• Hotel Raudaskrida – Barnafoss waterfall (appr. 26km)

Cycle along the banks of river Skjalfandafljot, through Fellsskogur forest and experience two powerful waterfalls, great canyon amongst other things.

One can also adjust the distance of this trip as suitable.

Internal survey performed in summer 2011

We did an internal survey in August (10th-16th), where we asked our guests to evaluate several points after their stay.

Questionnaire about accommodation, service, breakfast and dinner were left in their rooms.

Guests were asked to rank from 1 to 5, 1 beeing poor and 5 beeing excellent.

Internal survey performed in summer 2011 - Discussion

We are very pleased with those results and proud to present them to our customers. Our main concern though is the results for the breakfast.

This winter we will consider to change the serving hours of the breakfast and to add to the variety to make our guests more pleased with their stay.

We also plan to use such internal surveys few times a year to follow up.
