Dear Friends of Catherine Place,

What a year! 2020 has been full of surprises. Although social distancing means we can’t be together physically, Catherine Place is working to bring Hope, Healing, and Connection to women in Pierce County and around the world. We are still here to support women through:

• Individual phone and video conferencing appointments

• Hosting online Circles and support groups

• Holding digital workshops like SoulCollage and Co-Regulation

• Providing distance reiki and other healing arts experiences

Our dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners continue to work toward a world where all women find their voice and speak their truth. Catherine Place is flourishing because of you - our devoted friends and supporters. Thank you for your continued love and support for women in our community.

In the 2019-20 fiscal year Catherine Place exceeded revenue projections despite strong challenges, including the cancellation of Boombaballa and the loss of an important contract to support Crime Victims. We increased the detail of our financial tracking and continue to implement financial best practices.* $126,197 of this income was generated through

fundraiser events.

Hope, Healing and Connection...for more than 1,000 women

w Provided over 750 hours of confidential support, advocacy and resources to 77 women in Spanish and 106 women in English

w Offered almost 400 hours of education, leadership training and inspiration to women from Pierce, King and Thurston Counties through weekly groups

Hope Individual Support & Advocacy: Women receive information, education and resources related to their specific needs in a supportive, home like environment. While appointments are encouraged, drop ins are accepted during open hours (typically 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday).

HealingHealing Arts: Specialized healing services promote relaxation and self-care, including; reiki, biomat, acupuncture, and aromatherapy.

We also offer workshops where women can experience new art forms, alternative healing, and spiritual growth in a supportive environment.

w Four Healing Arts practitioners provided 73 hours of services.

ConnectionSupport Groups & Circles: Women provide and receive encouragement and support from peers.

Groups meet regularly and are offered in English and Spanish. Visit catherineplace.org/events for a complete listing of groups.

‘Yes, We Can’ and ‘Si, Se Puede’ are leadership training in the Circle model. Circles foster development of voice through a model of shared leadership and rotating responsibility.

w Served 91 Latinas through “Juntas en Trancision” (Together in Transition), Pierce County’s only ongoing domestic violence prevention support group offered in Spanish

w Offered 34 hours of leadership, community building and communication training through 12 interactive workshops

w Had 10 events with over 150 guests celebrating empowerment of women

w Partnered with 44 local service providers to support women in need
