I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the brethren (and their significant others) who helped put together the 2014 Special Ladies Valentine's Dinner. It was well received by the Special Ladies as well as their guests. I always find it comforting that there is never a shortage of brothers who are willing to step forward to lend a helping hand. To help make sure a task is seen through to completion. That is what we do as masons. We practice charity. Though not all charity is mone-tary. A brother who gives some of his time, can in some instances do just as much, if not more, than a monetary contribution. If you see an opportunity to help a fellow brother, take it. You'll be glad you did. Fraternally, Bro. Brent Adams Maxwell

March Masonic Birthdays
Inner Door
Just as the mysteries of God’s truth are available to those who earnest-
ly knock, so admittance to the mysteries of Freemasonry are opened by the
proper knock at the Inner Door of the Lodge.
Anchor
An emblem of the hope of the soul in its trust in God in the midst of
the storms of temptation, affliction, and persecution.
Anchor and Ark
These two symbols together are emblematic of man’s journey over the
sea of life and of the value of hope as an anchor.
Definitions taken from the Master Mason Edition of the Holy Bible
Charity
There is so much good in the worst of us,
And so much bad in the best of us,
That it ill behoves any of us
To find fault with the rest of us.

Food for Thought From the East
Spring, can it really be just around the corner? The record cold tem-
peratures and the many snowstorms have us all weary, but it is inevi-
table Spring, will come with brighter and warmer days.
I would just like to take a moment to thank all those involved
in helping make the Special Ladies Valentine Dinner a success. The
ladies really enjoyed themselves. Br. Brent Maxwell, great job
coordinating the event. Br. Dick Cooper and wife Pam, WB Tom
Tuttle, WB Nathan Page, WB Bob Drinwater and wife Velma, Br. How-
ard Page (providing music), Br. Alec Eaton and wife, Michelle and last
but not least, my wife Cindy.
Another thanks to all those who attended the Four Square
Program at the Naval Lodge in Kittery. It was nice to see old friends
and make new ones.
Look to the calendar for the many opportunities to get out
and be part of what’s happening at Saint James Lodge and Masonry
throughout the First District.
Fraternally,
Alan E Jones, Worshipful Master
Any Brother who would like to help the Lodge save over $5.00 annually, and enjoy getting the Trestleboard earlier, and in color, please
consider getting the trestleboard by email!
Just notify our brother secretary,
PM John Martin at:
Thanks Brothers!
