CE, DGS – Dowlaiswaram briefed project status to Hon’ble CM.

Hon’ble CM advised EnC WRD to issue month-wise water requirement

targets to the project and instructed WRD and various agencies to

complete project within stipulated timelines to ensure water lifting in

current season.

Hon’ble CM reinstated that the project does not make a business case

unless water is lifted in current season, as Polavaram shall supply water

through gravity by next monsoon.

Secretary, WRD informed Hon’ble CM that a review meeting is planned

on and before 5th July’18 regarding progress and issues to be resolved

for timely completion of Chintalapudi pump house and canal up-to RMC,

along with WRD officials, District administration and agency.

3 Adavipalli reservoir

and lift scheme

CE, Tirupathi informed Hon’ble CM that agency has requested for

extension of reservoir completion date by 15 days (instead of 30th

June’18). To ensure that there is no further slippage, 50% of BG

submitted by the agency was sent for encashment.

4 Kuppam Branch

Canal

District collector, Chittoor informed Hon’ble CM that 117.32 Km canal

excavation was completed as on 31st May’18 and the status remains

same till date which says that no excavation was carried out for the last

one month though most of LA issues were resolve.

Barrage

Hon’ble CM interacted with the agency of Nellore barrage and instructed

for timely completion of works. Agency to give weekly updates during

review meeting on status of works and action plan for completion of

project.

discussed that 38 nos. rafts out of 42 nos. are completed and WRD is

striving for completion of balance four rafts by 30th July’18.

6 Mallemadugu

District collector, Chittoor informed Hon’ble CM that Forest department

is claiming for 990 acres instead of 750 acres due to less suitability of

land for vegetation. Permission from CMO is requested for handing over

of additional 240 acres.

additional land to forest department, since the land being handed over is

less suitable to grow forest and also in the interest of project.

District collector, Chittoor informed Hon’ble CM that 81 acres of forest

land is being cultivated by encroachers for more than 30 years.

Stage II forest

clearances at state

Forest department officials requested for release of INR 17.7 Cr for

compensatory afforestation at Chintalpudi. Secretary WRD informed

Forest department that payment shall be cleared at the earliest.

Secretary, WRD advised all APWRD officials to note that Stage II forest

clearances can be issued at state level in case of linear projects. He

informed that this is an important update that can help in expediting

forest clearances for irrigation projects.

Tender finalization for

Lifting of water from

Jeedipalli Reservoir

to Bhairavanithippa

Project.

Secretary, WRD instructed CE, Ananthapuram that package 2 tenders

for Bhairavanithippa Project shall be finalized at the earliest. Also, it was

discussed that a package-wise clear status shall be presented in the

weekly review meeting with Hon’ble CM.

Hon’ble CM instructed WRD to take necessary measures for completion

of project within an year instead of 1.5 years duration mentioned in the

bid document.

Community Lift cum

Drip Irrigation Project,

Uravakonda

CE, Anantapuram briefed Hon’ble CM that project serves 50,000 acres

of land and costs INR 985 Cr. Hon’ble CM instructed WRD to expedite

project works and ensure completion within 12 months. It was also

discussed that CLDI, Uravakonda is pilot case and shall have all advanced

drip irrigation techniques, methodologies and modern equipment for

enhancing benefit cost ratio and save more water to encourage more

such projects.

Commissioner, R&R informed Hon’ble CM that revised list of

beneficiaries shall be received by 10th July’18. Hon’ble CM instructed

district administration and RR authorities to ensure that timely

completion of R&R activity to facilitate water storage.

19 Water Conservation

Drive

Hon’ble CM reviewed activity wise progress of 139 days water

conservation drive / Jala Samrakshana Udhyamam. It was advised that

WRD shall take up balance works in regular Neeru-Pragathi program.

Micro Irrigation and

holistic approach on

water management

Department of Micro Irrigation informed Hon’ble CM that 31,000 ha of

land shall be taken up in micro irrigation by 15th July’18 from Chittoor and

Kadapa districts.

Hon’ble CM advised that focus shall on areas with ground water below

20m and there shall be a holistic approach in Ground Water

Management, Micro Irrigation, water supply from Major & Medium

irrigation projects and utilization of rain guns for optimal productivity.

43Veligonda Project - Tunnels I & II & Head Regulator

Tunnel-1 for a length of 3.60 KM and Tunnel-2 for a length of 8.037 Km were deleted from the existing agencies under clause 60('C). New tenders are being finalized for balance works. Agencies agreed to give undertaking as per the Hon’ble High Court judgment and requested for settlement of pending claims.

Head Works : Earth work excavation of Head Regulator portion completed.

Proposal for entrustment for additional 500 m length of Tunnel – 1 at non EPC rates to the Head regulator agency submitted to the Government.

Revised Estimate for INR 6,400 Cr submitted to the Joint Committee of IBM & SLSC on 04-04-2018 duly incorporating the add-on works of Package-1 & 2 for recommendation to the Government. Remarks are being attended.

Necessary proposals were uploaded to MOEF for Stage-I clearance of Forest Land to an extent of 69.30 Ha for Phase-II (Canal) works.
