From Mr Ireland’s Desk
Welcome everyone to week nine of term three. It is truly unbelievable how quickly this term has gone. I hope all of our fathers had a wonderfully day yesterday being spoilt by your children. I know that I personally I have been given some new artwork that will take pride of place in my office.
Last week was a lovely week here at Tuggerawong, I got to have Grace from K1/H come to visit me to read me her Star of the Week booklet, Piper came and gave me a beautiful picture and I worked with Douglas, Piper, Flynn and Samantha in preparing them to lead last Friday’s assembly.
Well done to everyone at Tuggerawong Public School on such a fantastic week.
Good Luck
Good luck to both Rochelle and Eli who are competing in the Sydney North Athletics Carnival today. It was a great effort just to get there and we are very proud of both of you.
Congratulations to Stage Three
Stage Three returned safely from their trip to the Great Aussie Bush camp last Friday. They had an amazing 3 days away and from all reports conducted themselves in a manner that really made me proud.
A massive thank you to Mrs Day, Mr McNally and Mr Lyons who gave three days out of their family time to provide the children with such a wonderful experience. Your time and efforts were truly appreciated by all.
I hope you all got a good rest over the weekend and are feeling fresh and ready for a busy week.
2016 Enrolments
We are currently looking at classes for 2016. If you planning to leave our school at the end of this year or know of families moving to our area please contact the school.
Congratulations- Well done to a special group of our students who last week were announced as winners in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day Indigenous Art Competition, run by Brett Parker and Modern Teaching Aids.
The students who worked on the winning group artwork - Brayden and Lachlan Wilcox, Lachlan Melinz, Monique Blackborrow, Kaitlyn and Samantha Godfrey, Faith Drylie, Harry Coulten and Caiden Holloway-Gibbs. It is a beautiful piece of art that will now hang in our school hall.
Brayden Wilcox won an individual prize, which we are very proud of.
A massive thank you to Terry who helped create our stunning group entry. He gave up a few of his lunch breaks to help all our entries with their art works. Thank you also to Mrs Farnworth who coordinated and lead this group. Your dedication and creativeness is a true asset to our school community.
Wishing all of our families a wonderful week.
David Ireland
Principal
STAGE 2
Later this week, Carlos De La Pena Raez and Jack Perry will represent our school at the Regional Spelling Bee at Wadalba Public School. Good luck both boys. We are very proud of your achievement.
Concert is in full swing! Please see classroom teachers if you have any questions or concerns. We will endeavour to assist and solve any problems or concerns you may have. We would like to wish all students the best of luck next week. They have all done an amazing job so far and we are very proud of them. Thank you to parents who have helped organise costumes. Your help is always appreciated.
Week 4 next term, Digi Ed will be visiting our Stage 2 classes for an incursion. Digi Ed is an animation company who provide engaging learning experiences through the use of ‘stop motion’. Students learn how to use ‘stop motion’ to create exciting narratives with clay figures. The learning will enable students to achieve digital technology outcomes listed in the new English Syllabus. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn something new and explore their creative side as 21st century learners. The cost of the incursion is $35, payable at the office.
Over the holiday break can we ask your help replenishing pencil supplies for your child. While the school endeavours to supply a number of resources, pencil stocks are always hard to maintain. We appreciate your support in providing extra resources and equipment such as pencils and tissues, etc.
As the weather gets warmer, a reminder for students to pack their school hat. We have noticed out at sport that some students are forgetting to bring their hats to school. We will be outside more so in the coming weeks, so a school hat in the sun is a must.
Looking forward to concert week!!!
Mrs Farnworth and Ms Anderson

WOW! What an adventure we had last week! Stage 3 participated and experienced adventures at The Great Aussie Bush Camp, where a great time was had by all. Our Year 5 and 6 students really enjoyed all the challenges thrown their way at camp from the giant swing, to the dual flying fox, lost world, high ropes and more. The students enjoyed all activities and learned a lot about getting on with others, teamwork and looking after themselves in a very different setting. A big thank you goes to Mr Lyon and Mr McNally for their contribution in making this camp so enjoyable and a fabulous experience for our students!
We still have a very busy two weeks remaining this term. We will be rehearsing for our School Concert which will be held next Wednesday and Thursday.
Year 6 Fundraising - If you are a Year 6 parent please volunteer your time at our concerts - helping to sell snacks at interval on either Wednesday, 16 September (Matinee at 12pm or 6pm Evening show) or Thursday, 17 September (Evening only) it would be greatly appreciated! Please contact Mr McNally if you are able to assist!
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a fantastic week!
Mrs Kate Day
Assistant Principal

Haven’t we been busy! Last week 5/6M were fortunate enough to experience the Great Aussie Bush Camp (GABC) where we were able to embrace a number of outdoor & adventurous pursuits that we can’t achieve in the school setting. I think that the giant swing was the highlight of the day activities, while a number of entrepreneurs were identified during the County Fair.
Good luck to Rochelle Beamish who is representing at the North Sydney Regional Athletics championships today in the 800m. Tomorrow a number of our students will be challenging Tacoma as both the boys’ & girls’ touch teams take to the field
Callum Skeem will be off next week to the C.C. GATS Camp where he will be extending his already formidable mathematics skills.
Rehearsals are going well for our performance which is a little over 1 week away. I hope that you have tickets
