Fundraisers Halloween Dance-a-thon This is our school’s major fundraiser and it is quickly approaching. We need students to fill their pledge forms! Parents, we need prizes for the students and help at the dance-a-thon. Please contact the school if you can help out in any way. Pizza Lunches We have kicked off the school year with our pizza lunch fundraiser. It is one of our big school fundraisers, having raised $1,448 in 2011. Not only does it give parents a day off from packing a hot lunch, it also gives our school much needed revenue. Any food or beverage sold at Holy Redeemer must comply with the criteria of the Ministry of Education’s Food and Beverage Policy (PPM150) as of 2011. For us to continue our tradition of having pizza lunches twice a month, we must use the serving size provided by Pizza Pizza to comply with PPM150. The school principal may designate up to 10 days during the school year as special-event days where food and beverages sold in schools would be exempt from the nutrition standards of PPM150. We prefer to use these exemption days for other events such as bake sales within the school and the year-end school BBQ. Should you have any questions or concerns about the pizza lunches, please contact Mrs. Colavincenzo at [email protected]. DonateNaturally.com – NEW – ONGOING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR Our school has been added to this all natural and organic on-line retail store (from food to cleaning products to personal items such as vitamins and shampoo). If you make a purchase at http://www.DonateNaturally.com, 15% of the value of your order will go to Holy Redeemer. Select Holy Redeemer Catholic Elementary School as your donation recipient. There is free next day delivery Canada wide. Please let your friends and family know about this great on-line store. Mabel’s Labels – NEW – ONGOING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR Please support our school and purchase labels from Mabel’s Labels. Our school will get a 20% commission on all purchases though the school year. These are great quality labels for clothing, shoes, containers, etc. Please go to www.hrs.mabelslabels.com to order yours today. Again, please also let your friends and family know about this wonderful on-line store. $1 Frozen Yogurt Wednesday - NEW We will be selling San Diego ice cream style frozen yogurt to our students at morning recess on Wednesday November 14. We will plan to have 3.5 oz yogurt cups of “chocolate vanilla” and a surprise flavour on a first-come first-serve basis. Bring in your loonies everyone! This yogurt is PPM150 compliant, free of many allergens and packed in recyclable cups. If you would like the ingredient list please go to www.sandiegoyogurt.com. We would like to sell this throughout the school year but will see if the students like it first.

Parents - if you can help us sell frozen yogurt, please contact the school. Hot Dog Lunches – NEW On Friday, November 30 we will be selling hot dogs at the school. Please look out for the hot dog form some time in November.

Parent Volunteers for the School Library If you have a few hours every week to spare and are interested in applying to volunteer in the school library please contact the school principal. Our school library is currently only open on Wednesdays. That is the only day that the librarian is at school. The library volunteers will help shelve books and keep our library organized. A volunteer application form and police reference check will be required. Please contact the school principal for the forms and further information.

CSAC Needs You! We need parents willing to get involved so that we may continue our efforts to provide our children with wonderful opportunities and a beautiful school environment. You are welcome to attend our Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) meetings, become a member, give us input and help out with fundraising events. Anything that you can do will help our children at Holy Redeemer. We look forward to having you involved at our meetings and events. See you at our next CSAC meeting on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at 5:30pm at school.
