Brother Knights,

I hope that the New Year is bringing you joy, good health and happiness so far. We are now moving from the plan-

ning phases to the action phases for our Fish Fry Fundraiser event that takes place at our hall on Friday, March

31st from 5pm to 8pm. Tickets are now available for $10 per person. In the next few weeks we will be selling tickets

via church bulletins, and in person. The more involved we are with this event the better chances of it being success-

ful. Once this becomes a success we can later add pancake breakfasts or other fund raising events on a regular

basis. Please contact John DeStefanis, Steve Altimari or myself to purchase tickets.

As the inauguration of our new President in Washington approaches, the Supreme Council has asked that we pray

the following prayer as a Novena prayer which invokes the maternal intercession of Mary, the Immaculate Concep-

tion, Patroness of the United States:

Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in Heaven, who chose Mary as the fairest of your daughters; Holy Spirit, who chose

Mary as your Spouse; God the Son, who chose Mary as your Mother, in union with Mary we adore your majesty

and acknowledge your supreme, eternal dominion and authority.

Most Holy Trinity, we put the United States of America into the hands of Mary Immaculate in order that she may

present the country to you. Through her we wish to thank you for the great resources of this land and for the free-

dom which has been its heritage.

Through the intercession of Mary, have mercy on the Catholic Church in America. Grant us peace. Have mercy on

our president and on all the officers of our government. Grant us a fruitful economy, born of justice and charity.

Have mercy on capital and industry and labor. Protect the family life of the nation. Guard the precious gift of many

religious vocations. Through the intercession of our Mother, have mercy on the sick, the tempted, sinners – on all

who are in need.

Mary, Immaculate Virgin, our Mother, Patroness of our land, we praise you and honor you and give ourselves to

you. Protect us from every harm. Pray for us, that acting always according to your will and the will of your divine

Son, we may live and die pleasing to God.

Amen.

Fraternally,

Will Haggerty

Philadelphia Chapter News

Brothers,

I am attaching the final update for 2016 Charity Drive.

Thank you to every member and council who have contribut-

ed.

I want to take a moment to congratulate the following coun-

cils and their members on a tremendous job in their contri-

butions to the 2016 Charity Drive as they are placed in the

top 4 in participation: St. Joseph the Worker with 33 mem-

bers contributing for a total of $590, Regina Mundi with 31

members combining for a total of $1945 (almost to $2000),

Regina Coeli with 27 members combining for $940, and final-

ly a tie between Fr Thomas Ryan and Holmesburg Councils

with 22 members a piece. Fr. Ryan brought in $615 while

Holmesburg brought in $370.

You should be receiving this coming week a letter for the

2017 drive. I urge my brother knights to double your efforts

in the charity drive contribution.

Also please be sure to that your council participate more

fully in the drive. I like to see a better rebound in 2017 most

especially a contribution from more councils. Please forward

this email to your council's Grand Knight and Financial Secre-

tary. I might be open to a possible contest to make it more

interested, which I like to discuss with our president, vice

president and secretary.

A letter will also be going out to explain the difference be-

tween the charity drive and per capita. I suggest you take

note of it.

So far I received a contribution from La Rabida 1191 for

2017.

GET ON THE BANDWAGON GENTLEMEN!!!! I will take any

contributions from councils at the January 20th meeting. DO

NOT MAIL IT!!!!

The bottom line: we need to promote this drive more effec-

tively on the council level. It starts with you.

Note: This coming week, I will be out of town for a vacation/

retreat in San Antonio. Keep me in your prayers.

God Bless,

Mickey Kelly

Chairman
