Nations is located in Cork city centre. We have 18 training rooms and a full range of training support facilities. Our Centre has provided training and L&D services to the corporate English market over the last 40 years.

When you book a course with Nations we include the following services in the course price:

• Pre-training telephone interview, level and needs analysis (20 mins)

• A dedicated client manager in German, French, Spanish or English to answer your questions and support organising accommodation, or funding through CPF or Bildungsurlaub etc.

• In additional to the training, included in the price are:

All training materials and course handbooks, video recordings and MP3 recordings

5 business lunches per week – including meal costs

2 business dinners per week – does not include meal costs

An individual training room for exclusive use during your stay

Post training report, certificate of attendance and other relevant administration documents etc.




You are welcome to use the facilities and there is free Wi-fi throughout the building. Refreshments are available at all times and the Centre is open from 08.30 each day. You do not need to pay for lunches (5 per week) but you will need to pay for your dinners (2 per week) as part of the programme.

It is recommended to bring your laptop in order to:• access your job-related material during the training• prepare your presentation at Nations• download feedback from MP3 and MP4 recordings

We cannot make any changes to your equipment when you are on site. You will need the support of your own IT department for this.

You will need a 3 pin Irish/UK adaptor.




Dress code in Nations is casual and comfortable. Be prepared to spend some time walking to restaurants daily. Don’t forget to bring some rainwear –just in case!

In the hotels there is a swimming pool, sauna and spa, so you may wish to bring swimwear/sportswear.

There are running routes around the city and we will be able to give you recommendations on your first day in Nations.

Ireland is in the E.U. as well as the Eurozone, and the currency is the Euro. Most restaurants accept credit cards, Mastercard and Visa, although sometimes American Express won’t be accepted.

With an European passport, you do not need a visa. Travelling to Ireland, a valid E.U. passport or National ID card is necessary.

Finally, Ireland is one hour behind (-1 hour) standard Central European Time (CET).




Staying in Cork

Cork is home to nearly 180,000 people and is a university city with a vibrant music and arts culture. It is famous for the Cork Jazz Festival as well as The Cork International Choral Festival. There are a large number of pubs and music venues in the city centre, from traditional to contemporary, which you will enjoy as part of your social programme.

Nations is located just 15 minutes by taxi from Cork’s International Airport. Cork is the official starting point for the Wild Atlantic Way, and gateway to the beautiful South West coast of Ireland. Fly directly to Cork, or alternatively, fly to Dublin and take advantage of frequent, low-cost and comfortable bus options (3.5hrs) from Dublin Airport to Cork city centre.




The Nations course is very intensive, with full days of training and well-organised business networking and socialising opportunities in English.

Hotels/B&Bs are close and easy to access, between 2 and 15 minutes’ walk from Nations Training Centre.From Cork Airport to the hotel/B&B, it should cost no more than 15-20€ by taxi.The hotel and B&B package includes breakfast, free Wi-fi access, and use of the gym facilities.

We host 5 restaurant lunches each week with a trainer, as part of your course, and this includes the meal costs. In addition, we host 2 restaurant dinners per week with a trainer; however, please be aware that this does not include the meal costs for dinner.

If staying in a host family, all evening meals and weekend meals are provided by the host family. The host family takes only one guest per family, and additional costs may include bus/taxi daily to and from the Centre.
