HO STUDENTS ASSOCIATION
Ho Students Association is an organization of Ho Community
Students of Odisha. It was established on 1994 by the Students of
Ravenshaw College, Cuttack of Odisha. Young & Brilliant Students
such as Biswanath Banara, Kisan Samad, Dambrudhar Honhaga
and others have set up a meeting on the early 1990’s to form a group of Ho Students
from different Colleges of Cuttack & Capital City, Bhubaneswar. With the Objective to
create Unity among the Students Studying at College and Universities the team
thought of organize get together like events so as to know each other well and have
kind cooperation among the Students.
Students from Ravenshaw College, Shailabala Women’s College, City College,
Cuttack I.T.I and many more had gradually joined from time to time and huge masses
were been come up for the noble cause of the Society.
A general Body Meeting was called on the year 1994 with the presence
of 70 students from different College for the discussion regarding the setting up an
Organization which would take the responsibility of the objective set by the
Community Students for the Welfare of the Ho Society Peoples. It has finally come up
with the following objectives below:-
(i) To Worship Sing Bonga (God) at Deshauli, celebrate cultural rituals, organize religious festivals, functions and various Puja related to it.
(ii) To Promote and practice Ho traditions such as Mage Porob, Baa Porob, Heroh Porob, Jomnama etc.
(iii) To Observe and celebrate the Birth and Death Anniversaries of the great men and women and also the days of national importance.
(iv) To educate the women for abolishing superstition evil, social customs and practices and to develop their scientific outlook.
(v) To provide self employment to educated and un-educated people in rural and urban areas on the basis of various vocational education and training on agro based small scale industries and other technology.
(vi) To provide an opportunity for skill development of the people living in the rural and urban areas through training on fisheries,poultry,animal husbandry, carpentry work ,sewing, food processing and preservation.

(vii) To work for social, economical, sports, cultural and educational development of people and also people belonging to weaker section, Schedule caste and Schedule tribe.
(viii) To work for all round development of children of the children in general, child labour, and girl children belonging to Weaker Section, Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe in particular.
(ix) To make the women able for raising their voice against all sorts of atrocities on women and to fight against Alcoholism, Drug addiction, dowry system.
(x) To create awareness to people about the advantages of small family size and family planning programme and prevention from HIV/AIDS and work for the same.
(xi) To establish and run Libraries, schools, sports clubs & art centre and old age home, orphan home and homes for the destitute women.
(xii) To create awareness about first aid, Balanced Nutrition, Hygiene, Healthy environment, village Afforestation and prevention of useful species of plants for natural balance and work for same.
(xiii) To work for Communal amity, Unity and Integrity of the nation. (xiv) To create awareness related to various developmental
scheme/awareness programme run by central and state government for minorities, weaker section, Schedule Caste & Schedule Tribe.
