i. General Amenities available in the campus
TRANSPORT
The University is well connected to the city by public transport buses. Apart from this, the college has a fleet of 50 buses for the convenience of the staff and students who come daily to the campus from various parts of the city. The buses are also used for industrial visits, excursions and arranged for hostel residents to visit the city on Sundays and other holidays. The institution also offers cars and mini buses for senior faculty members.
ACCOMMODATION
The university has a fully furnished air-conditioned guest house which can accommodate 20 guests at a time.
The hostels have well furnished Air-Conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms with bath attached providing the right ambience for studies.
Each and every hostel is provided with dining hall, uninterrupted water supply, reading hall, round the clock STD, ISD service, internet connection, indoor recreation facilities, continuous medical and transport facilities. Canteen and fast food centers are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
BANKING FACILITIES
A Nationalized bank and ATM facilities are available within the campus.
CAMPUS CLINIC
The university has a full-fledged clinic in the campus with a doctor and supporting staff available for 24 hours. Free treatment and check up is provided. Vaccination camps are arranged periodically.
AUDITORIUMS
The university has three auditoriums equipped with a public address system and LCD and projector facilities, where University functions and seminars are conducted.
OPEN AIR THEATRE
There is also an open-air theatre which is used for celebrations, convocation and functions.

INSURANCE
Mutually beneficial insurance schemes covering both parents and students have been taken up by the college. All students and their immediate family members are covered by insurance. In case of sudden death of the parent the student will be provided an amount of Rs. 1 lakh to support his continued education. In the unfortunate instance of the student’s demise the parent will receive an amount of Rs. 1 lakh.
SCHOLARSHIP
Meritorious students are eligible for various scholarships offered under the Government's schemes for SC, ST and BC students. In addition to this the institution offers scholarships and financial assistance for meritorious and needy students. Scholarships are also provided by the Management for the students who excel in academics, sports and cultural activities upto Rs 1 Lakh and even tuition and hostel fees.
CASH AWARDS AND PRIZES
Cash awards and prizes are given for academic excellence, proficiency in sports and athletics and cultural competitions.
DIGITAL LIBRARY
The Hindustan University has a modern, air-conditioned and computerized digital resource center spread over 1,00,000 sq ft. The resource center has 75,000 volumes of technical books, National and International journals, management books and periodicals. There is also an excellent collection of light reading materials. An array of audio, video CDs / DVDs and training films are stocked in the library for students and staff. The online access system keeps them within easy reach of students.
COUNSELING SERVICE & STUDENTS SUPPORT SERVICES
This is a forum that enables the students to voice their views and grievances. The counseling cell addresses both personal and academic problems. Competent and trained counselors handle grievances, ensuring strict confidentiality. To ensure that the campus does not have any incidence of ragging, an anti ragging committee has been constituted as per the guidelines of Raghavan committee Government of Tamilnadu.

Accreditation vide letter No. F.No. NBA/ACCR-688/2004 dated 19-05-2009.
3. Madras Management Association has awarded its prestigious “Managerial Excellence
Award” in the Education category for the year 2008.
4. Also introduced courses on “Emerging Areas” such as B.E. - Aerospace Engg.,
M.E.Environmental Engg., etc; MBA in Aviation Management from the academic
year 2009-2010. Also Introduced “Innovative Interdisciplinary” M.E./M.Tech.

5. Conducted an International Conference in the campus on “Composites for Aerospace
Applications” inviting leading experts in this field from India and abroad between
24th March to 26th March 2009. An International Conference on “Global Computing
and Communication” is scheduled to be held on 9th to 11th December 2009.
6. Over 91 National level Seminars /Conferences/Symposia were organized by the
Institution in the last 5 years.
7. “Three Academic Council Meetings” were conducted on 21-10-2008, 14-03-2009 and
19.09.2009. The syllabus for the 1st semester was approved by the 1st Academic
council meeting. The syllabi for the remaining semesters were approved by the
subsequent academic council meetings.
8. Two University examinations have been conducted on time and the results have been
published as per schedule.
