History map

A history map gathers information about our past and helps us think about our future.

It would be difficult to record your entire life on 1 piece of paper, so it is useful to focus on a theme. Relate the history Map to what you want to change in your life. It could be about –

Holidays Work Education Relationships Highs and lows Pets Places to live

Think about how you felt at the different stages of your life. Look for common themes in your story. Were you always happy when you lived near countryside? Have you always had animals in your life?

Patterns will help you, and the people around you, see what will be important in your future. For example, if you were very sporty in your youth, but injury has stopped you playing, you might want to take part in some other way. Perhaps you want to raise money for a local club or join a supporters’ club? Use your history to think creatively about your future.
