Principal’s Pen
. Welcome Back

amazing in their school uniforms.

which will be presented by B5 and B6 on Friday August 7.
Parents are reminded to please do their best to maintain the current social distancing
requirements for school events. One person per two square metres. Thank you.
Student Awards and Student Recognition
We have enhanced our student award and recognition system by making stronger connections
to strategic planning, schools values, school curriculum and positive behaviour initiatives.
We will acknowledge every student; every year, using weekly School Values Certificates and or
an Outstanding Achievement Certificate.
These acknowledgements will work alongside a fortnightly school Citizenship Award, Endeavour
Awards from the school administration team and daily positive reinforcements from class and
specialist teachers.
Enrolments 2021
Enrolment planning for 2021 has now commenced, so it’s time for you to notify us of your child’s
enrolment status for next year.
Determining prospective enrolments will assist us to accurately anticipate the overall school
budget which informs our future staffing and class structures.
An enrolment confirmation notice for 2021 will be sent home next week. Pleasr return these to the office by Tuesday August 18. Thanks for your assistance.
Attendance and SMS Messenger
Hillarys Primary School will be introducing a SMS messenger system this term to support
student attendance monitoring and reporting across the school.
Soon, parents will be able to communicate absences to the school via an SMS and the school
will be able to send parents a student absence notification via SMS if their child has not arrived
at school.
We will also be introducing a designated attendance e-mail address for Hillarys PS in the future.

School Board Sub-committees
Our School Board met this week in a sub-committee structure to discuss, review and plan
school communication and school branding initiatives. These meetings were most productive
and I thank all members for their high level of commitment and contribution.

EXCITING NEWS
BANKING IS COMING BACK TO SCHOOL
We are so lucky to be able restart the banking pro-
gram. We have missed seeing all of our little bankers
faces each week. Our start date will be Thursday the
6th of August running each week at the old canteen near B block,
doors open at 8:15am to 8:45am.
The school banking program is a great way to teach our kids the
rewards of saving money, whilst raising money for our school
through deposits from the Commonwealth Bank. If you are inter-
ested in joining your child up for the program, you are more than
welcome to come down and ask any questions or have a look on
the Commonwealth Bank website at dollarmites.
Cannot wait to see our regulars and some new faces as well.
Thanks the Banking
Team
Marathon Club
Mrs Armstrong and faction captains will be ready from 8.00am this Wednesday to help students from all year lev-els who wish to attend Marathon Club. Students will need
to fill out a new recording card before they get started, and at the conclusion of the session, return them to the collation boxes.

Term 3, Week 2
Welcome back! At Camp Australia, we’re experts at having fun, regardless of what’s happening
with the weather. Rain, hail or shine - we always have fun, with engaging and enriching activities
on offer for all ages of children to participate in! If there is a loved activity that we have missed for
some reason, please let us know.
Outdoor Play:
Even though the season is turning, we are still requesting from parents and encouraging the chil-
dren to wear a wide brim hat while playing outside.
Drop Off / Pick Up:
We are still in the process in keeping parents/carers out of our room. Parents are allowed inside
the gate, however should not pass our front entrance door.
Incursions for Term 3 and Term 4:
We are happy to announce that we are in the process of planning wonderful incursions for Term 3 and Term 4. On Monday, 27
th of July, we had our 1
st of 4 incursions from Suez.
The children all participated and learnt about the new rules of recycling. Our next incursion will be held on 3
rd of August. We are asking for your help in collecting clear plastic 1.25L plastic bottles
for one of our upcoming incursions. If you have any issues to book your child in for any session, please contact us directly!
If you as parent have any input that you would like to share with us, please contact us at the ser-
vice.
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon, From the Friendly Team at Camp Australia Anna, Cameron and Jessica
