Ironwood Wolves Matt Emmelhainz & Rachel Lauren 614-349-1974 [email protected] http://www.ironwoodwolves.com Educational programs are available to schools, libraries, camps, and other public or private venues. They include a slideshow presentation with pictures and other elements of learning such as hands on activities. These programs can be tailored for any age group. An added extra is the fact that they have one of their ambassador animals alongside as they speak to the audience. There are also hands-on elements such as a wolf pelt, wolf skull, and wolf paw print casting. Presentations can be altered to fit any criteria you are hoping to cover, but here are the basic programs they offer: The Wolf: Fact vs Myth- This is a general presentation on wolves, but very informative. Family life, habitat, diet, and basic myths and facts are covered. We also speak about their important role in the ecosystem, and why we have no reason to fear these amazing animals. Foxes in Folklore- To tie in our ambassador foxes, we have decided to offer this fun presentation that will surely be popular with libraries and literature teachers. Foxes are often featured in art, fairy tales, and stories time and time again. Here we discuss different tales, and also cover basic facts on red foxes, the most recognized fox species. Wild Canids of North America- Here is a great way to learn about all wild canids you'll see here in North America. From wolves, to coyotes and foxes; all species are covered. Myths and facts are revealed and we can bring along either of our ambassador species. You can choose which ambassador species we bring with us for this program. Ages 6-11, $150. Needs: Please make sure that the performance area is taped off so the audience knows to not sit too close and make the Ambassador Wolf feel cramped, 5-10 feet. (CML)

COSI Brian Krosnick, Manager of Workshops 614.228.2674 ext. 2339 [email protected] Superhero Science- It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Nah, it’s super-science! In this interactive workshop with COSI, you’ll explore the science behind saving the day. You’ll examine temperature, manipulate light, and test speed to see how “super powers” surround us each and every day. You’ll even see (and feel) the electrifying, hair-raising power of electricity firsthand. This summer, you can keep the city safe and sound with science on your side. Ages 6-11, limit of 30 participants, $195 Junior Engineer- Kids can design, build, test, and redesign! Engineers use energy, math, and science to solve problems as they design the roads, bridges, buildings, and schools we see every day. We’ll start by exploring the energy around us – at work whenever something lights up, makes noise, or moves – and see how it flows through circuits. Then, you’ll become an engineer yourself as you build sky-high standing towers, energize light bulbs, program real robots, and even design, build and test your own floating boats to see how much mass they can carry without sinking. Preschool-K, limit of 30 participants, $195 Gadgets-to-Go- The excitement of engineering, force and motion, and mechanics hits the road in this energizing hands-on workshop. We’ll explore energy – at work in the world around us – and how it flows through conductors. You’ll dream it and build it with awe-inspiring Blue Blocks and construct magnetic marble-run roller coasters; program real robots, construct circuits to make music, and even design, build, test, and redesign to create a recycled floating contraption in our five-foot-tall wind tube! Ages 6-11, limit of 30 participants, $195 Coaster Creators!- This open inquiry, engineering design workshop is filled with ups and downs as you explore the engineering process, communication, and collaboration. First, put the force of gravity (and teamwork) to the test in a wild marble challenge. Then, scream ahead as you build your own roller coaster around chairs, through desks, and across chalkboards. With limitless flexible track, supports, and marbles, if you can dream it, you can design it, build it, test it, and redesign it until your coaster is ready to thrill. Ages 8 and up, limit of 30 participants, $195 Coaster Creators- This open inquiry, engineering design workshop is filled with ups and downs as you explore the engineering process, communication, and collaboration.
