February wonderful! We celebrated by showing love for our family and friends with all the Valentine’s Day parties. Thank you to all the families that participated! March is here and we look forward to two weeks of Wild Kingdom - Spring Break 2015! NEISD has spring break March 9 – 13. Comal ISD has spring break March 16-20! It is not too late if you or your friends are looking for spring break activities.

SPRING FESTIVAL, OPEN HOUSE AND EGG HUNT Saturday, March 28, 2015

10:30 am to Noon.

We will have numerous vendors and refreshments out front. Parking will be at Indian Springs Elementary. A continuous shuttle will run between Indian Springs Elementary

and the center. The EGG HUNT will be in the back yard. Due to limited space, reservations are

requested to guarantee your child’s participation

Parent Referral Program Earn FREE Tuition by referring your friends, co-workers or family member to us! If

you provide us with their name, email address and phone number, we will make contact with them to share information about Children’s Lighthouse.

As the referring family you will be credited a FREE week of tuition for your oldest child

after the new family has been with Children’s Lighthouse for four (4) continuous weeks.

SUPPLY REPLENISHMENT

CONVENIENCE SERVICE

On the rare occasion that a child runs out of toileting supplies

(diapers or wipes) and a parent cannot immediately replenish

supplies. We will now offer parents a temporary supply

replenishment convenience service.

The convenience fee for one (1) diaper and wipes

will be $2.50 per occurrence.

The fee will be added to the following week’s billing ledger.

HOURS OF OPERATION ARE

6:30 AM TO 6:30 PM

Parents, your children must be picked up by the close of business.

Per the Children’s Lighthouse Parent Handbook, a LATE PICK UP FEE will be charged to

your ledger/ account if children are picked up later than 6:30PM (based upon our clock)

LATE PICK UP FEES ARE: 6:30 pm to 6:40 pm –$10.00 flat charge

For every minute past 6:40 pm - an additional $1.00 per minute will be charged

discovery. We will be learning all about our senses. At this age

children learn the most by touching, tasting, hearing, smelling and

listening.

Our color this month is green. The shape is a clover. The baby sign

is “hot”. The song is “Baby Bumble Bee. The rhyme is “Clap, clap,

Clap Your Hands”.

Some of our students have been practicing walking. We are all using

our gross motor skills and expanding our vocabulary. We are

learning many new words.

We ended February with a Scholastic Book Fair. The beginning of

March with a celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. THANK YOU for

your support and participation.

March is going to be a very busy month. Spring Break is right

around the corner. Please bring a coat for your child every day,

our Texas weather is constantly changing and is unpredictable.

The theme for March is FOOD AND NUTRITION; Nature and Science

focus will be FARM ANIMALS; our Character Value for the month is

HUMOR: The letters we will be introducing are: K, Q, and V.

During Circle Time activities and reviewing the letters that we

learned in September and November: A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, J, L, M,

O, P, R, S and T. We are learning to write and identify our numbers 1

through 10 and continue to practice writing our names and

practice precision scissor cutting skills.

Please notice that Daily Communication sheets are now in your

Child’s folder at the end of the day. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD”S

FOLDER EVERY DAY. We are collecting old magazines and toilet

paper/ paper towel cardboard rolls for art projects. If you have any

of these items, please send them in.

During cold, flu and allergy season we ask that on Fridays you take

home nap time blankets and pillows for washing. We continue to

encourage students to cover their mouths when sneezing and

coughing and to wash hands often.

If you have any questions or concerns, please visit with me. It is my

goal to make learning a fun experience for your child.

We will also discuss where these healthy foods come from! Our science & nature focus is FARM ANIMALS. We will work on animal recognition and where the animals live. ROOM 9 MS. EMILY, LEAD TEACHER Hello Parents! March is here. We hope to see warmer weather, fun spring break activities. Our themes this month are FARM ANIMALS and FOOD & NUTRITION. We will learn about different farm animals and the different ways they contribute to the farm. We will also learn about the food pyramid and how to make healthy food choices. We continue to work on our sight words and word families. We are excited to welcome Ms. Jennifer to our class. She will be helping out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
