HIGH QUALITY DOG NUTRITION

ARCTIC HOUND Target audience: Is a dog food brand createde for the loved, plaufull and high activity dogs. Arctic Hound aims to be the choise for nutrition concious dog owners who love to hike, train and spend time outdors with their four legged friends. Interests: quality food, outdoors, animal health, excercise, nature.

Positioning: Arctic Hound wants the position as the most noutrisus dog food brand on the market. It aims to have a clean, conciouss, sustainable ingridient list and be an option for those who seek a high protein and vitamin content in their dogs food. Whatever kind of dog you have, ARCTIC HOUD dogfood should be the known choise if they need extra vitamins and protein. One of the main ingridients is ecological arctic salmon that is known for its high omega 3 and protein content perfect for dogs. Salmon gives a shining fur and a healhy dog.

In the pictures under exploration I have highligted the 3 thumbnails that I find is the best options with purple circles.

This option is chosen because it fits with the brands au-dence. It is a dog that is not cute or a puppy, it has a stong look and at the same time a simple design.

This option is also simple, it is has a little happier softer look than the to other thumbnails chosen, but I feel that it could become a great logo if it is developed further. It is simple and the challange here is to keep it simle without loosing the arctic dog look.

This option is a simple design. It has a clean symetric look. It is tought to be a modern single weight logo. The dogs have a tough look with out looking mean. This is the option I have chosen to develop into a logo.

4. testing I created four more variations of the logo, one where there is a bowl of dog food under the two dogs and the mounatain. The other tree are very similar to eachother except that nr 3 (the finnished skecth of the logo) is symetric. The otehrs also have the stars and tree placed differently. on one the same paper and sendt it to a few friends. Here is what they said.

Friend nr 1:

I think that nr 3 is best. I like how it is symmetrical. Or maybe take away that one line in front of the two dogs, so that strange triangle is gone and one dog stands in front of the other. Or maybe that is not right, I like how it is simple and symetrical. The three and the stars are quite nice and give a outdorsy feeling like you said, or maybe take away the three.

Friend nr 2:

Definitly nr 2 is the best one. Because it doesn’t have the tree. I think the ones with the tree is not good. It looks tacky to me, like north Finland tacky. The dogfood bolw is kind of nice but the one with two stars and mountains is nice. The one with just mountains and stars is great because the stars give a feeling of landscape , and the three is just look like a strange symbol thing. The dogs are quite symetric but when the one dog is in front of the other, and you have two mountains it gives life and credibility to the picture.

5. refinement I took into consideration what my friends had said during the testing phase, I understand that some peo-ple like symetry and some like asymetry. I Chose to make an asymetrical version. During development in Adobe Illustrator I also made all 4 versions that I sketced to see how they looked digitalized and then this version was the best. The task says to create a logo in full colour. I initially thought to give the logo a silver colour but have chosen to keep ut in black and transparant. It is what I think fits the brand best and it adds to the simplicity that I wan the logo to have.
