● Using the activity ‘Find the Treasure’, ask children to follow the routes, either with a pencil or with their nger, to see what they nd. Ask them who found the pizza? Who found the sh? etc.’● Talk about what the Mice Pirates might do with the cheesecake.● Build on the activity and make up some of your own puzzles to use with the children.
Further ideas● Hide some treasure around the room and then get the children to see if they can nd it. You could help them by giving them some clues.● Talk about helping each other. When you are looking for something, you might have to work together.● Make up a pirate song or a pirate dance.● Put 5 items on a tray. Ask the children to look at them, then cover the tray and take away one item. Uncover the tray; which piece of ‘treasure’ has gone?● Ask the children to draw some pirates and a pirate ship and make up a story about them.● Using the ‘Trelawney Mask template’ , produce a mouse mask for each child so that they can become mice pirates.● Make up a box of clothes and other items and get the children to dress up like pirates, and act out their own play. They could also use the mouse mask they’ve cut out.
