The Potoo is a master of hiding. This bird hides by looking just like a tree branch. Their feathers are a brown pattern that matches the tree bark.

Activity

There is a Jaguar in the Museum, along with many other South American animals. They are much easier to find in the Museum than in the forest! Why not try to spot them using the 3D Virtual Visit at museum.ie.

The Anaconda is a large snake, but it can still hide when it needs to! Their skin is a green and brown colour to match the leaves of the forest, and they also have a spot pattern to help them blend in.

The Jaguar is a big cat which relies on camouflage to help them catch their food. They hide using their spots to blend into the forest shadows, until they are close enough to pounce!
