Hello, Ms. Emma.

It is an honour for me, as always, to be able to communicate with You. As You requested, here it is, the list of our schedule for the next weeks.

Please, allow me to remind You how grateful I am: letting me, as Your proudest butler, participate in this journey with You, and even better, letting me set the schedule, has been the greatest honour I could have ever received. Thank You.

Well, putting that aside, allow me to explain You what are we going to do (and a few fun facts, if You could allow me):

• First, following Your precise request, I booked two rooms in a hotel located in COLONIA. Someone, I don’t really remember who, said we would regret going there, that it was a huge mistake. Strange, don’t You think? I mean, it seems to be a lovely place. What do they expect us to do? Join a cult? Uh, people these days... Oh, and I didn’t tell You the best part (though I can’t confirm whether this is true or not): they say, that around there, hidden under a waterfall, there is a CHAMBER OF SECRETS containing a beautiful sculpture representing a huge GOBLET OF FIRE! Isn’t that interesting? I always wanted to know if something like that even existed! I hope it’s true, it must be quite a sight to behold!

• Second, always following Your requests, I tried to invite NOAH with us, but, as You may have understood by now, he turned us down. What a shame, I was quite expecting his presence: You know, he promised to tell me a story, THE TALE OF DESPERAUX. Now, I will have to wait our next meeting. Oh, well. Ah, yes, should You be interested, he said he was busy with that thing, uh, --wait, I wrote it somewhere-- ah, yes, THE ORDER OF PHOENIX. He was going with them there, at that place, he called it... Oh, right, THE CIRCLE. Doing what, I wonder... Oh, well, please don’t worry: I am sure we will enjoy our trip all the same, even without him.

Okay, now that the important things have been said, please allow me to tell You about a couple of things that happened to me, in these weeks You were far from home. It’s just for entertainment, if it annoys You, my Lady, You may skip the next part totally.

So, about two weeks ago, I went to see that doctor You gently suggested me to help with my nightmares troubles. At the beginning, he looked at me and told me it could be stress, but hear this: after he hypnotized me, and put me in a state of REGRESSION, he said I asked him to free me, as I was a PRISONER OF AZKABAN, and that a guy, a priest, someone I called VICAR OF DIBLEY, was trying to exorcise me. Then, before waking me up from the hypnosis, he said to me that everything was okay and I shouted something like: “No, it’s not okay! THIS IS THE END!”.

Honestly, the poor guy was so scared he almost kicked me out of his room... As You suggested, I even tried to ask him what were THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, but he said that I had to find out on my own and almost pushed me towards the door... Really, I think he just wanted to get rid of me... I feel so sorry, I will try excuse myself next time.

On a more serious note, do You think I am becoming insane, my Lady? That would be so bad, I love my job... I just hope I am a bit stressed, that’s it. Oh, well...

Oh, yes! I want to tell You about MY WEEK WITH MARILYN! Not now, though, or this communication letter would become endless! Just a little sneak peek: I think she was fancying me a little!... Just deluding myself, am I? Yeah, I think so too... She was so nice, though...

Well, what else... Oh, yeah! I have bought a little Christmas present for You, my Lady: it’s nothing special really, but I bought it with all of my heart.

I would like to surprise You, but I know You would guess it quickly, so at least, I would like to be the one to tell You!

At the beginning, I saw this nice pair of BALLET SHOES, but

honestly... You are so busy lately, You sure don’t have the time to dance. So I turned around a bit, ended up in a jewellery and saw this incredible, ultra shining thing... On the tag, it was written THE BLING RING... But, a ring? And why the “THE”? It didn’t seem that special to me. Sure, it was super shining but, aside from that, a common ring.

And, honestly, I didn’t know what to do... I didn’t want to seem disrespectful, You know a ring can give so many messages... What if You fired me? So, a bit desperate, I wandered around a bit and, You know what?

I saw this shop, called HALF-BLOOD PRINCE nest. The owner, an old man, said he was the legendary aforementioned prince selling rare, unique and ancient items (honestly, I think he was boasting a bit... What kind of title is that? The shop seemed just an ordinary antique store!). But the items he was selling were quite fascinating... And my eye got caught by an amber-colored little lucky charm... When I picked it up to buy it, he almost made me freak out as he shouted: “Nice tastes!!! This is the legendary PHILOSOPHER’S STONE! It makes people do great things!”. Honestly, come on. But it’s so beautiful and, who knows? You might want to lead a country one day, and this little thing could help You! (Just kidding... Though I think You would do greatly as a leader!).

And that’s not it! The old man tried to sell me some DEATHLY HALLOWS along with the little stone. He said that if I had enemies, they could help me (he was trying to make me sign a subscription-like paper, telling me there were two boxes full of those, like PART 1 and PART 2, and the second would be delivered in a month or so...). I didn’t think it was necessary so I gently refused (he seemed a bit disappointed...).

Ok then... Please excuse me, my Lady, I tend to drag on a bit when I am excited. I sure wish You come back as soon as possible, I want to hear all of Your stories!

Oh, sorry, I was about to forget: that guy, Bruce K., called the yesterday evening and brought me bad news: he said he wouldn’t be able to deliver that sculpture You ordered for the garden, THE BEAUTY AND THE

BEAST before 2017... Another whole year, can You believe it? I was so excited to see it... He kind of made up lots of excuses, like quality, raw materials not being enough...He said he would do the best he could to deliver it sooner but I honestly got worked up and told him “No one is going to believe you Bruce!”.

I know my Lady, I am sorry, I will apologize to him later. But, another year... This is the third delay...

Well, now that’s really it, my Lady, I hope I didn’t annoy You. Here at home, everyone is waiting for You to return, especially me. Only a week separates us!

So, Ms. Emma, I hope I was able to entertain You! I know I dragged on a bit, but... Sorry, I self-proclaimed me as Your butler... But that was the best way to communicate You a message using a metaphor.

Soon, this year is going to end, and I wanted to sum up everything the best way I could, without being annoying or too cheesy!

Starting from about fifteen years ago, when I was a nine-year old little boy who instantly fell in love with that bright, little witch from “Harry Potter”, passing through Sam from “The Perks of being a Wallflower” or Angela in “Regression” or more personal victories like being chose as “Woman of the Year”, graduating from the Brown University, giving that wonderful speech at the UN or winning the British Artist of the Year Award (And I can’t wait to see “Beauty and The Beast”!).

Up until now, it has been a wonderful journey! I am so happy to have experienced it (yes, not physically, but I have always been with You!) and truly excited to live it more and more!

And You know what? There is still more. Don’t ask me why but, inside me, I know that the best has yet to come!

You have done a lot of important things over the years so I know that

You will keep doing great things!

Each and every of your victories, Ms. Emma, I feel them like they were mine so I wholeheartedly enjoy them and make them become a reason to push myself harder because I want to do better each day, just like You!

And, on a final note (I swear!), that little nine-years old brat I was speaking about before, has nurtured (and, is still) a dream, a dream that, even after all this time, he is still holding dear and never going to give up about: becoming friends with You.

I know, I know: everyone would want to become friends with You. So why me? Not that I consider myself special or better than any other people...

But... I would really like to, uhm, know You better. I mean, You are doing great the way You are doing, mixing Your real self with Your public image: people can support You for all the roles and film and still find a real person to be inspired with or follow advices...

Yet, getting to know a bit more, who You really are, how You enjoy things or live situations would be so great... I remember when in an interview You said something like: “When I am not being treated as one of the seven wonders, I get relaxed but it’s more difficult because I have to be someone they don’t expect: myself, Emma” and so on (please, excuse me if I got it wrong).

Well, I would be so honoured... I admire You a lot, so getting to know the person behind all that amazing work, would be... Well, simply great!

You see, I even imagined how it would be like! Like this:

You would be like: Hey, you are not half bad. How about we become friends?

And I would be like: Oh, Ms. Emma, I would really accept, but You know I am kind of busy and... WHAT? BECOMING FRIENDS? OH MY GOSH, YES, YES THAT’S JUST---

And You would be like: Keep it down.

And I: SORRY I TEND TO GET A BIT NOISY WHEN I AM EXCITED, I CAN’T REALLY GET MY COMPOSURE BACK, I AM---

And You: You leave me no choice.

And then, like, You would be shooting me, and I would be there, on the ground, lying dead but with a smile on my face because we were friends for, like, five or ten seconds, and that would be so great...

On a side note, Ms. Emma, if You could not shoot me, it would be great too! Though, don’t worry: if You need to, I am okay with it, I will totally understand and, actually, I would keep supporting You from the other side (no, please don’t worry, I am not going to call a thousand time!)

Well, my dear Ms. Emma, it’s about time I bid You goodbye for now. I truly wish You enjoyed this crazy letter ( if it managed to get a few smiles from You, I will consider this a win) and, more, I hope You were able to read it without falling asleep (it’s rather long, isn’it?)!

Dear Emma,

I‛m a fourteen girl, and it‛s been 6 years I know you now. You‛ve been my first idol, and you still are. By the word “idol”, I mean that you helped me to smile and somewhere, I‛ve grown up with you. When I was 9, I filled my suitcase with clothes and chocolate and I left the house. My mom saw me and ran after me in the street. She caught me and told me: “Mathilde! Where are you going ?” And I answered: ”I‛m going to London mom, for finding Emma Watson and telling her thank you!” She took me in her arms and she cried. Then I knew about He for She and I knew you were feminist. Simce I was 11, I already was thinking about the equality between women and men. Than I became more and more intersected in the subject. Now I have an ambition : join the He for She team when I‛ll be older. I have a sweater that I bought thinking of you. There is the definition of the feminism writing on it. Merry Christmas Emma. And thank you for always being there.

Emma, I did not know what to write to you but I found this poem by Maya Angelou I though might be good to read on Christmas. I did not know the author was a person you were a fan of when I read it. Reading it I thought of these words my dad said about love: “Love is wishing the best for another person”. I feel love is the great message and duty of Christmas. In the spirit of love by my dad‛s definition, I‛d say you spent quite a year of love for others. You really put your place on Santa‛s good list. Anyway, here‛s the poem I found We, unaccustomed to courage exiles from delight live coiled in shells of loneliness until love leaves its high holy temple and comes into our sight to liberate us into life. Love arrives and in its train come ecstasies old memories of pleasure ancient histories of pain. Yet if we are bold, love strikes away the chains of fear from our souls. We are weaned from our timidity In the flush of love‛s light we dare be brave And suddenly we see

A beautiful rose , a beautiful night , everyone wants a nice friendly . The important thing is the thorn of the rose , the mystery of night , man is to love with all the trouble. Sadness is the most worthy of love. When lit, we have been burned; but since we never complain sadness. After all, are we not a nation downcast prophet ? Sadness keeps fresh wound of love .
