Stewardship is a way of life...Stewardship is a way of life...Stewardship is a way of life...Stewardship is a way of life... It is a way of living each day in gratitude for all the blessings that God has given to us. The roots of stewardship can be found in the Bible, which tells us over and over that God is the Creator and Giver of all gifts. It is our re-sponsibility to show our gratitude to God for these gifts, by giving back to God the “first fruits.” We do not own the gifts God gives to us. We are only here on earth to use those gifts to do God’s work. In 1992 the US Catholic Bishops released a pastoral letter on stewardship entitled: “Stewardship: A Disciples’s Re-sponse.” The Bishops described a Christian steward as one who: • Receives God’s gifts gratefully • Cherishes and tends them responsibly • Shares them in justice and love • Returns them to God. Sharing our gifts and returning them to Go means giving generously of our time, talent and treasure. We give to God by sharing with our Church and with those in need. Time and talent can be shared by becoming involved in parish life, and by offering a helping hand when needed. Treasure can be shared by making a conscious affort t make a financial gift to God first, before we pay the bills and buy the things we want. When we give To God only after all our personal spending, we end up throwing him the loose change or having nothing left at all to give. When we give to God first, we are making a gift of faith, trusting that God will provide for our needs. Are we truly giving God the “first fruits” just as God has asked us to do in the Bible?

Noviembre del 2011 Queridos amigos y amigas, "Aquí estoy, Señor" es el tema de nuestra Feria de Corresponsabilidad y Minis-terios. A lo largo de la historia de nuestra salvación, el llamado de los fieles se ha en-carnado en esta respuesta antigua y corta. Es lo que dijo Abraham antes del mi-lagro de su fe y antes de volver a recibir la promesa. Es lo que dijo Moisés ante la zarza ardiente en el monte Horeb. "Aquí estoy" es lo que el joven Samuel dijo cuando escuchó la voz de Dios llamando a la noche. "Aquí estoy" es la promesa de Dios para nosotros cuando asumimos el llamado del discipulado, y es también la respuesta del discípulo que acepta el llamado de Dios. November 2011 Dear friends, “Here I am Lord” is the theme for our Stewardship and Ministry Fair. Throughout the history of our salvation, the call of the faithful has been incar-nated in this ancient and short response. It is what Abraham said before the miracle of his faith and before receiving back the promise. It is what Moses said at the burning bush at Horeb. “Here I am” is what young Samuel said when he heard the voice of God calling in the night. “Here I am” is God’s promise to us when we embrace the call of discipleship as well as the response of the disciple who accepts the call of God. Our readiness to respond to the graciousness of God is best manifest in our sharing the gifts and blessings we have received. Our discipleship and our faith in action will then translate into a sense of stewardship and generosity. In this directory, you will find a listing of the ministries which form our parish

life. These ministries not only bring life to our parish, they also provide an impor-

tant avenue by which we can work side by side to fulfill the mission of the

Church. Please take the time to look through this directory. When you find

something that appeals to you, respond as did Isaiah when he saw the Lord in

the setting of the Jerusalem temple and said “Here I am Lord, send me”

Building Commission

Consultative body which advises the Pastor in areas of maintenance, repair and capital improve-ments to the physical plant and grounds. It works together with the Finance Council to secure bids for any work that is required.

Members are appointed.

Finance Council Consultative body which shares their collective accounting and management skills to advise the Pastor in areas of financial planning, fiscal management, and cost/benefit analyses and evaluations. The council en-sures regular financial accountability to the whole parish. Members are appointed.

Hispanic Ministry Commission Consultative body that promotes and develops programs and ministry to the Spanish-speaking congregation of our parish. This commission provides preparation for liturgical and sacramental celebrations, educational and catechetical programs as well as community and cultural outreach to Spanish-speaking parishioners.

Liturgy Team Consultative body responsible for the implementation of the norms of the General Instruction. This group’s purpose is to advise the Pastor in areas of the Church’s public worship and provide catechesis to the entire parish when necessary. This commission also provides a forum for communication among the various liturgi-cal ministries of the parish. No expertise in liturgy is required to participate.

The Discipleship Initiative: Christian Stewardship Commission This commission is to promote the Principle of Discipleship and Christian Stewardship in our parish: that all that we have and all that we are come from God and should be returned to God in gratitude through propor-tionate commitments of Time, Talent and Treasure. The commission also plans and conducts the annual Par-ish Stewardship Renewal including the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.

Estudio Bíblico para Hombres Un estudio de la Biblia para conocer la Escritura a través de las lecturas dominicales y para fomentar el crecimiento espiritual a través del compañerismo. El grupo reza juntos, y reflexiona sobre las lecciónes de la Biblia para profundizar su relación con Dios.

Respaldo a la Confirmación Se necesitan facilitadores para conducir sesiones para grupos pequeños de parroquianos que se preparan para celebrar el Sac-ramento de la Confirmación. Junto con sus mentores, los candi-datos a la Confirmación, participan en proyectos de servicio. Los mentores pueden seguir ayudando a los candidatos en el desar-rollo de su formación católica después de la Confirmación.

Vida después de la Pérdida: Ministerio de Apoyo en el Duelo Un ministerio de apoyo para los que han experimentado una pérdida por muerte o tragedia.

Club de Hombres Un nuevo grupo social y de servicio para todos los hombres de la parroquia. El Club de Hombres ofrece un ambiente para fomentar la fraternidad cristiana y un sentido de comunidad entre todos los hombres de la parroquia. El club servirá como un grupo de com-pañerismo y ofrecerá una estructura para ayudar con eventos parroquiales. También ofrecerá un servicio para el mantenimiento de los edificios y terrenos de la iglesia.

La Tercera Edad en Nuestra Señora Feligreses jubilados están invitados a reunirse mensualmente para una liturgia especial, un almuerzo y fraternidad. También se les invita a participar en actividades espirituales, educativas y sociales tanto en Our Lady of LaSalette como en otras parroquias y agencias de la comunidad.

Rainbows Rainbows ofrece a los niños y adolescentes orientación para en-frentar el duelo y para crecer después de una pérdida. Rainbows es la caridad más grande para niños dedicada exclusivamente a ayudar a los jóvenes a navegar con éxito el proceso tan dificil del duelo.

Stephen Ministry Stephen Ministry es un ministerio centrado en Cristo, confidencial, uno a uno, para escuchar. Bible Study for Men A Bible Study to embrace the Scripture through the Sunday readings and to foster spiritual growth through fellowship. The group prays together and reflect on Bible lesson to deepen the relationship with God.

Confirmation Support Facilitators are needed to conduct sessions for small groups of parishioners preparing to celebrate the Sac-rament of Confirmation. Together with their mentors, Confirmation candidates participate in service pro-jects. Mentors may continue to assist the candidates in their post-confirmation Catholic development.

Life after Loss: A Grief Support Ministry A support ministry reaching out to those who have experienced a loss through death or tragedy.

Men’s Club A new social and service club open to all the men of the parish. The Men's Club is to provide an atmos-phere to foster Christian fellowship and a sense of community among all the men of the parish. The club will serve as a fellowship group and will also provide a structure to assist with parish events. It will also pro-vide a service for the maintenance of church buildings and grounds.

Our Lady’s Seniors Retired parishioners are invited to meet monthly for a special liturgy, luncheon and fellowship. They are also invited to participate in spiritual, educational, and social activities both at Our Lady of LaSalette and at other parishes and community agencies.

Rainbows Rainbows gives children and teens the guidance to grieve and grow after loss. Rainbows is the largest children's charity dedicated solely to helping youth successfully navigate the very difficult grief process.

Stephen Ministry Stephen Ministry is a Christ-centered, confidential, one to one, listening ministry. Stephen Ministers are lay parishioners trained extensively in the skills of Christian Care-giving and commissioned to minister to other parishioners whom are experiencing a personal crisis (divorce, job loss, depression, death of a loved one, illness etc.)

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament The exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is every Wednesday from 12:00pm to 6:30pm. Participants spend 1 hour or more in prayer or spiritual reading. Ado-ration is closed with the Celebration of the Eucharist at 6:30pm. Altar Servers The altar servers assists the priest during Mass and other liturgies, serving God and the community. Anyone who has made First Communion of either gender may inquire about becoming an altar server. Boys and girls as well as adults may complete training and serve during Mass. Family members are encouraged to serve together.

Art and Environment Participants in this ministry help with our liturgical environment and church fur-nishings. They create and maintain the visual expression for weekly and special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at Mass Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute Communion at the cele-bration of the Eucharist. They assist the priests and deacons who are the ordi-nary ministers of the Eucharist. Confirmed parishioners 16 years of age or older may participate in this ministry. Training is provided. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Outside of Mass This ministry ensures that those who are homebound, hospitalized or otherwise unable to attend Mass can receive Communion on a regular basis. Extraordinary Ministers who serve at Mass are encouraged to participate. Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers)

The ministry is open to adults, youth and children with the willingness to greet and warmly welcome worshippers as they enter the church; to assist with collections, to distribute bulletins, and to take care of the church environment. Ministers of the Word (Lectors) Lectors proclaim the Word of God during the Liturgy of the Word at the celebration of the Eucharist. Training is provided. Music Ministry Cantors, choir members and instrumentalists are needed to lead the assembly in sung prayer and worship. Cantors lead the assembly in sung responses. Training for can-tors is provided. Choir members and instrumentalists contribute to the uplifting musical prayer of the church. All instruments are welcome and a certain level of proficiency is necessary. Sacristans They prepare the worship space for the celebration of the sac-raments. Their responsibility is to care for the vestments, ves-sels, candles, and preparation of the bread and wine for each celebration. Training is offered. Walk to Emmaus A great opportunity for spiritual renewal. Participants relive the walk with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus. Emmaus is designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people. It focuses on renewing the parish and supporting per-sons in their faith walk as they journey together toward a deeper intimacy and union with God. Wedding Coordination They assist couples in the liturgical celebration of their marriage vows. They work together with the couples to plan and ensure that their wedding ceremony is a most joyous and solemn occasion.

Camino de Emaús Una gran oportunidad para la renovación espiritual. Participantes reviven la jornada de jesús en el Camino de Emaús. Emaús está diseñado para fortale-cer y renovar la fe del pueblo cristiano. Este se enfoca en renovar la parroquia y apoyar a las personas en su jor-nada de fe mientras peregrinan juntos hacia una intimidad más profunda y una union con Dios. Coordinación de Bodas Asisten a las parejas en las celebraciones litúrgicas de sus votos matrimoniales. Trabajan junto con las parejas para planear y asegurar que la ceremonia de su boda sea una ocación de gran regocijo y solemnidad. Ministros Extraordinarios de la Sagrada Comunión Los Ministros Extraordinarios de la Sagrada Comunión distribuyen la Comunión en las celebraciones Eucarísticas. Este ministerio es para adultos, jóvenes y niños que tienen el deseo de recibir y dar la bienvenida a los que entran a la iglesia; tambien ayu-dan con las colectas; distribuyen los boletines y cuidan del ambiente de la iglesia. Ministerio de Música Vocalistas e instrumentalistas guían a la asamblea en el canto de las oraciones y alabanzas. Tambien contribuyen a ensalzar la oración mu-sical de la iglesia. Ministros de la Palabra (Lectores) Los Lectores proclaman la Palabra de Dios durante la Liturgia de la Palabra en las celebraciones Eucarísticas. Se provee entrenamiento. Sacristanes Preparan la iglesia para las celebraciones de los sacramentos. Su respon-sabilidad es cuidar de las vestimentas, articulos sagrados, velas, y la pre-paración del pan y vino para cada celebración. Se ofrece entrenamiento. Servidores del Altar Asisten al sacerdote durante la Misa y otras liturgias, sirviendo a Dios y a la comunidad. niños, niñas, jóvenes y adultos que hallan recibido la primera Comunión pueden entrenarse para ser servidores durante la Misa.

Liturgia y Oración

Adult Faith Formation Group studies to develop and enrich appreciation and knowledge of Sacred Scripture. The General Directory for Catechesis mandates that the faith of adults must be continually enlightened, developed and protected, so that it may acquire that Christian wisdom which gives sense, unity and hope to the many experiences of per-sonal, social and spiritual life. There are sessions on Sunday morning, Monday evening, and Tuesday morn-ing.

Baptismal Preparation Parents and godparents of the child to be baptized are re-quired to attend a preparation sessions. The sessions will focus on the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism, the re-sponsibilities of the parents and godparents in teaching the faith of the Church to the child, and the celebration of the rite. Parochial School of Religion Religious Education program designed for school age chil-dren to learn the basic roots of our faith and to grow spiritu-ally. These sessions not only educate children about God, Jesus and the Catholic faith but prepare children to receive

the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation. Catechists and other volunteers are always needed to help teach and guide these students through our Catholic Faith formation. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children Process of formation to welcome new mem-bers into the Catholic Church. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is designed for adults who seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion. For children as well as adults, conversion is at the heart of the initiation process. "In proportion to their age and the assistance of the education they need", children are invited to respond to God's call to meet Jesus and to live in the mystery of his dying and rising each day. We lead them gently, step by step, into the mystery of God's love, so they can respond freely and lovingly. Catechists, Sponsors and other volunteers are invited to participate. Scripture Study A Lectionary based Scripture study to break open the Sunday Scripture. Participants explore their initial un-derstandings of the Scripture texts as they find meaning for their lives. They also explore input from the litur-gical and scholastic tradition of the church as they interpret the texts and enter in dialogue with them. Youth Ministry Youth Ministers help to guide the youth of our parish to learn Catholic values and encourage the sharing of their gifts with the community. Efforts are directed at fostering the total personal and spiritual growth of each and to draw them to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community while serv-ing the parish community and at the same time having fun. Formación de Fe de Adultos Grupos de estudios dedicados a desarrollar y enriquecer el aprecio y el conocimiento de las Sagradas Escrituras. El Directorio General de la Catequesis dictamina que la fe de los adultos debe ser continuamente iluminada, desarrollada y protegida con-tinuamente, de modo que pueda adquirir esa sabiduría cristiana que da sentido, la unidad y la esperanza a las muchas experi-encias de la vida personal, social y espíri-tual. Hay sesiones los domingos en la mañana, lunes en la noche y martes en la mañana. Preparación Bautismal Padres y padrinos del niño a ser bautizado deben asistir a varias sesiones de pre-paración. Estas sesiones se centran en el significado del sacramento del bautismo, de las responsabilidades de los padres y de los padrinos en la enseñanza de la fe de la iglesia al niño, y de la celebración del rito del bautismo. Escuela Parroquial de Religión Programa de Educación Religiosa diseñado para que los niños de edad escolar aprendan las raíces básicas de nuestra fe y crezcan espiritualmente. Estas sesiones no sólo educan a los niños acerca de Dios, Jesús y la fe católica sino que tambien los preparan para recibir los Sacramentos de la Reconciliación, de la Sagrada Comunión y de la Confirmación. Catequistas y otros voluntarios son necesarios para ayudar a formar y a guiar a nuestros niños y jóvenes a traves de la transmición de la fe católica. Estudio Bíblico Estudio bíblico basado en el Leccionario para entender la Escritura dominical. Los participantes exploran su comprensión inicial de los textos bíblicos mientras encuentran su significado en sus vidas. Tambien exploran conocimientos de la tradición litúrgica y escolástica de la iglesia mientras interpretan los textos y entran en un diálogo con ellos.

Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos y Niños Proceso de formación para dar la bienvenida a nuevos miembros de la Iglesia Católica. El Rito de Inicia-ción Cristiana de Adultos esta diseñado para adultos que buscan al Dios vivo y el camino de la fe y de la conversión. Para los niños tambien la conversión es el corazón del proceso de iniciación. “De acuerdo a su edad y la ayuda educativa que necesitan” los niños son invitados a responder al llamado de Dios de en-contrar a Jesus y de vivir el misterio de su muerte y resurrección. Los guiamos gentilmente y paso a paso al misterio del amor de Dios para que puedan responder libremente. Catequistas, padrinos y otros volun-tarios son invitados a participar. Ministerio Juvenil El ministerio de los jóvenes ayuda a dirigir a la juventud de nuestra parroquia a aprender valores católicos y los anima a compartir sus dones con la comunidad. Dirigimos nuestros esfuerzos a fomentar el total crecimiento personal y espiritual de cada uno de los jovenes y a atraerlos hacia la participación respon-sable en la vida, misión y trabajo de la comunidad de fe mientras sirven a la comunidad de la parroquia y al mismo tiempo se divierten. Las oportunidades para voluntarios incluyen facilitadores, choferes, chaper-ones y ayudantes.

Evangelizacion y Formacion de Fe

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Women’s Guild An organization for women who want to enhance their faith through prayer and service to the parish. They assist where possible when a need exists, helping to es-tablish community within the parish. All women of the parish are invited to join and participate. Church Cleaning and Ground Keeping This ministry involves helping clean the church, arrange missals and hymnals. Rotating teams of two or three dedicate about two hours a week to clean the church. Anyone who would like to help is invited to sign up for this ministry. Coffee and Donuts Fellowship Ministry to set up the Parish Center for the Sunday fellowship. It involves making coffee before Mass, serve coffee and donuts after Mass, and then clean up. Coffee and donuts are served after the first 2 Masses on Sundays. Everyone 16 and older is invited to serve in this ministry. Knights of Columbus A fraternal service organization of Catholic men dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Membership provides the opportunity for fellowship with those who are of the same belief, who recognize the same duty to God, to family and to neighbor and who stand side by side in defense of those beliefs. Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place. Activities center on church, youth, commu-nity and family. The Ladies Auxiliary assists in promoting the activities of the Knights of Columbus. Welcome of New Parishioners Ministry to set up and participate in newcomer welcome receptions 2-3 times a year, to contact new members of the parish to welcome them into the community, and to invite them to participate in different aspects of parish life. The ministry wel-comes volunteers who enjoys socializing and who are willing to help new members feel welcome.

Service and Parish Life

Bienvenida a los Nuevos Parroquianos Ministerio para preparar y participar en las recepciones de bienvenida para nuevos parroquianos 2-3 veces al año, para ponerse en contacto con nuevos miembros de la parroquia y darles la bienvenida a la comunidad, y para invitarlos a participar en los diferentes aspectos de la vida parroquial. Este ministerio es para los que disfruten socializar y están dispuestos a ayudar a los nuevos miembros a sentirse bien recibidos. Caballeros de Colón Una organización de servicio fraternal de hombres católicos dedicados a los principios de caridad, de unidad, de frater-nidad y de patriotismo. La membresía proporciona la oportunidad de compañerismo con aquellos que tengan la misma creencia, que reconozcan el mismo deber a Dios, a la familia y al prójimo y que defiendan esas creencias. Los caballe-ros son hombres católicos, mayores de 18 años de edad, que están comprometidos a hacer de su comunidad un lugar mejor. Las actividades se centran en la iglesia, la juventud, la comunidad y la familia. El Auxiliar de Damas asiste en promover las actividades de los Caballeros de Colon. Café y Donuts Ministerio para preparar el Centro Parroquial para la fraternidad dominical. Implica hacer el café antes de la Misa, servir el café y las donuts después de la Misa, y limpiar. Hay café y donuts después de las 2 primeras Misas del domingo. To-do parroquiano mayor de 16 años es invitado a servir en este ministerio. Gremio de Mujeres Santa Elizabeth Ann Seton Un apostolado para mujeres que quieren realzar su fe por medio de la oración y el servicio a la parroquia. Ellas asisten en lo posible cuando halla alguna necesidad, ayudando asi a establecer la comunidad parroquial. Todas las mujeres de la parroquia están invitadas a unirse y a participar. Limpieza de la Iglesia y de los Terrenos Este comité de voluntarios ayuda a limpiar la iglesia, arreglar los misales y organizar himnarios. Hay equipos rotativos que ofrecen dos horas semanales para limpiar la iglesia. Todo el que quiera ayudar es invitado a participar en este min-isterio.

Bereavement Ministry We provide support during the

time of grief after the loss of a family member or a loved one. We assist with funeral planning, provide assistance with receptions after funerals, family meals and any other assistance as needed. Homebound Visitation and Support We visit and provide fellowship to the sick in nursing homes and local hospitals, also to individuals who are homebound. We provide transportation assistance to doctor’s appointments or to therapy sessions. We also provide assistance with running errands, grocery shopping, etc. Reinhardt Campus Catholics The Campus Catholic Ministry at Reinhardt University serves the Catholic and Christian population at the uni-versity. The ministry offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to grow in their faith and their under-standing of the Catholic church. Respect for Life Works to promote a culture of life throughout our parish, community and nation. We believe that all life is precious from conception to natural death. We concentrate our efforts in a number of critical areas, such as promoting post-abortion counseling and supporting women in crisis pregnancies. Saint Vincent de Paul Society The largest Catholic charitable organization that assists the needy on a confidential basis with necessities such as food, shelter, clothing and medical care. Vincentians respond with compassion to people in need. The society is open to all who seek to live their faith loving and committing themselves to serve their neighbors in need. The society at Our Lady of LaSalette also manages a Soup Ministry several days of the week.

Ministerio de Duelo Ofrecemos apoyo en el momento de pesar después de la pérdida de

Reinhardt Campus Catholics El Ministerio Católico en la Universidad Reinhardt sirve a la población católica y cristiana de la universidad. Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul La organización caritativa católica mas grande que de manera confidencial ayuda a los necesitados al proveer comida, alojamiento, vestido y cuidado medico. Los Vincencianos responden con compasión a la gente necesitada. La sociedad esta abierta a todos los que buscan vivir su fe amando y comprometiéndose a servir al prójimo necesitado. La sociedad en Our Lady of LaSalette también administra un Ministerio de Sopa varios días a la semana. Visita a los enfermos y personas recluidas en casa Visitamos y ofrecemos compañía a los enfermos en los ancianatos y hospitales locales, también a la personas que están confinadas en sus casas. Ofrecemos ayuda con transporte para citas médicas o para sesiones de terapia. También ofrecemos asistencia para hacer mandados, compras del supermercado, etc.
