My name is Daniel Eklund Here to tell you about my job and education

here in Heltech Vallila

I work at Kiinteistövirasto or Real estate department of Helsinki

Ive worked there for over three years My main tasks are to maintain and update the

map of helsinki, mark new buildings and then measure the location of those buildings to verify theyve been built in the right place.

Also I measure and make plots or properties

Little bit of our equipments

At the moment we have the latest model of trimble s6 total station which is fully robotic which means it can be used alone if needed, it can be used with the trimble R8 GPS satellite system.

That was about my work, now about my education

I came to Vallila in 2006 Before I came here I had two weeks of working

experience of land surveing. First year felt pretty much ''normal'' school

which I personally didnt like because in my opinion doing the essential is the best way to learn

Ofcourse after I graduated I started to notice and respect how much I learned from the lectures that didnt feel important back then.

But the last two years were pretty much practical so I enjoyed most of it.

We had 4 long periods of ''internship'' during those I was in three different working places.

First one was National land survey of Finland which ''produces and provides information on and services in real estate, topography and the environment for the needs of citizens, other

customers and the community at large.''-maanmittauslaitos.fi Second was Bureau of constructing(not quite sure if its

the right translation, but the meaning is right)

Third one was my current job Real estate department of Helsinki
