2.1.2. NHS data In this section we provide information on the salary range for the pay band likely to cover
comparator jobs in the NHS. The NHS, with 1.2m staff is the largest employer in the UK and as
such plays a key role in influencing market for many non-medical roles, particularly in education,
given the links between parts of higher education and the NHS.
Full-time permanent lecturers in the NHS are typically employed on Band 7 and the current
salary range is between £33,222 and £43,041 a year outside of London and high-cost areas in
the South East/South.
Roles based in high-cost areas qualify for the following supplements:
• Inner London – 20% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,326 and a
maximum payment of £6,663;
• Outer London – 15% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £3,659 and a
maximum payment of £4,664;
• Fringe – 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,000 and a maximum
payment of £1,733.

You will have experience of working with Apprentices, up todate and relevant vocational experience within industry and work well as part of a team and independently. The postholder will be responsible for assessment and review of Apprentices in Engineering.
You will be able to deliver underpinning knowledge both in college and in the workplace and carry out health and safetychecks on employer premises where required. The successful person will also participate as a member of the courseteam, support curriculum developments and provide advice and guidance to employers and new students and must havea full assessing qualification.

The School of Care Sciences is looking to appoint Hourly Paid Lecturers to deliver applied advancedphysiology, across a number of well-established courses at postgraduate level. The courses aredelivered part-time, face to face, and taught to a range of healthcare professionals.
The successful candidates will join established teams focusing upon developing its taught provisionof applied advanced physiology in order to enhance the overall student experience and students’understanding of physiological changes in both health and illness.
The successful applicant will support students across two modules on the MSc Advanced ClinicalPractitioner programme and one module on the BSc/Postgraduate Certificate in Acute and CriticalCare programme. This post holder will have experience of working in a health care environment andbe able to offer significant insights into the physiological impact on a person’s health and ill healthstatus. Previous experience in teaching would be advantageous. Ideally, the person appointed willcombine both clinical and academic experiences in understanding advanced physiology.
Payment will be via an Hourly Paid Lecturing contract.
Successful candidates will be offered an hourly paid lecturing contract with the University of SouthWales at an hourly rate of: £18.80 - £43.00
