Museums cater to every interest—modern art at SFMOMA and California history at the Oakland Museum, while theater, ballet, opera, and popular music enthusiasts can take advantage of dozens of performing arts venues. Whether you’re going to the ballpark or an art exhibit, a shopping mall or a film festival, BART can take you there—without the hassles of driving, traffic, and looking for parking.
The “BART Destinations Guide” lists hundreds of destinations in and around San Francisco, the East Bay and as far south as San Jose that can be reached directly by BART, or by taking BART and an easy connection to other local transit services. For detailed information on BART train schedules and tickets, pick up a copy of the “BART Fares and Schedules” brochure at any BART station or visit www.bart.gov.
BART seRViCe oVeRViewBART operates five lines with service to 43 stations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hours of operation are generally from 4 am to midnight on weekdays, 6 am to midnight on Saturdays, and 8 am to midnight on Sundays and holidays. In many cases, BART service extends past midnight. For exact times on each route, see train schedules posted in stations, in brochures, and at www.bart.gov.
BART fARes & TiCKeTsFares are based on how far you travel. purchase tickets at the BART station. Ticket machines accept debit/credit cards and US currency. Children age 4 and under ride free!
