GENERAL SYNOPSIS

HannsEisler’s lifewas the storyofexile.ThebrilliantAustrian, Jewish,Marxist composer fled toHollywood in 1938, only to be deported a decade later, an early casualty of theMcCarthy era.Between film scores,hewrote thesepassionate songsofnostalgia,horror and longing, adaptinglyricsbyBrecht,GoetheandShakespeare.Despitehistroubles,thissongcycleestablishedEisler’sreputationasoneofthe20thcentury’sgreatcomposersofGermanlieder.

ThisisaONEACTperformancewithNOintermission.Theperformanceisroughly75minutesinlength.

FREIGHT

Presenter is responsible for round trip freight costs between its venue and Company storage inToronto,Ontario,Canada.WhentheCompany isbookedatmultiplevenuesbacktoback, freightcostsmaybesplitevenlybetweenvenues.Hell’sFuryisexpectedtobeabletoshipviagroundorsea,whicheveristhemostcosteffectivegiventhecircumstances.Thefullshowtravelsinone53’truckor40’seacontainer.

WhenevertheofficiallanguageofthecountryisdifferentthanEnglish,thePresentershallprovidetheserviceofatranslatorduringsetupandstrike.
