Where did the name Heiress come from?One word comes to mind and thats “rela-tionship”. Because I came out of being reli-gious and stepped into a relationship with Jesus Christ I learned what it finally means to to be a daughter to not just a King but the King of kings. So now I know myself to be a heiress because of who my Father is.

Was becoming a stylist your life goal?Absolutely not! I always wanted to be an entertainer. I was in singing groups and was in various talent shows until I hit the age 14. I have a best friend who at that age and time worked in a shop as an assistant and we made a vow to open up our own shop so we can be together forever. So. I went home grabbed my Kenya doll and started braiding with my mother as my teacher. everything else is history.

What is most important to you about your business?The integrity of the brand. My spiritu-ality is the most important thing in my life and it is the foundation of everything I do and if I ever decide to lose focus of that everything about me will fail.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 year? Further then I was 5 years ago. I have learned if you want to make God laugh tell Him your plans. I desire to live like Matthew 6:33-34 when it comes to this question . But, if I have to give you something it will be, to be better than I am today.

What legacy do you want to leave?The same legacy God handed to us thru Christ number one. To always work with

a lot of love in your heart and I want my son to remember that your personality will take you further then your gift so always keep your heart filled with love.

What obstacles if any were there to becoming Heiress Studios?Battlefield of the mind! That was my biggest obstacle. The first thing was to to make up in my mind that I can do it. The second was realiz-ing that my fears weren’t real and again, I can do it. The third, if it isn’t for me, it isn’t for me and I can do it. Fourth, my family and others are waiting on me. Oh, and fifth, I can do it!

What advice would you give to someone struggling with accepting their calling?You are not alone. Buckle down, hear God and move while afraid.

There is Something about a GQ dressed man. When I was young-er I use to watch my grandfather his whole suit together from the way he styled his hair to the shoes he wore on his feet. The Stacey Adams store knew my by name. But, at that time I didn’t have the money to buy anything. That channelled me to being comfortable with styling men’s hair.

Whether short or long I had to make them look DEBONAIR. If you look good you feel good. If you feel good, you do good. I’m into doing my part when it comes to building a man up.
