Ramona Heart of SD County
MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Ramona Chamber of Commerce is to develop and maintain a climate for viable economic growth, to
promote loyalty to and networking for local businesses and to demonstrate an outstanding leadership role in our community.
Get your hiking boots on! It’s time to take the Ramona Trail Challenge! Support this Chamber of Commerce activity and get healthy in the process. Chamber board member Paul Zawilenski from Chase Bank has put together a great program in partnership with San Diego County Parks and Recreation along with several sponsors, including Smoking Cannon Brewery, Pamo Valley Winery, San Diego Sunshine Distillery, Reds Whites and Brews, Ramona Family Naturals, Old Town BBQ, Big 5 Sporting Goods, CC Cycles Bike Shop, Boll Weevil, Cheers and our newest member, Kit
Fox Outfitters. You can pick up your Trail Challenge “Passport” at the Chamber office or at any one of the sponsor locations while supplies last or use the challenge form on page 9 and 10 of this newsletter. The challenge must be completed by June 1, 2019. The trails for this challenge include Ramona Grasslands Preserve, Barnett Ranch Preserve, Santa Ysabel Preserve West, Mt. Gower Preserve, Pamo Valley Stage of Coast to Crest Trail, and Iron Mountain Ellie Lane Loop. It’s a fun time for all and a healthy and scenic diversion.
Do not forget to get your tickets for the Ramona Open Studios Tour coming on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, 2019. Tickets are only $10 and will allow you to visit featured Ramona artists in their own home studios. The event has been expertly spearheaded by Chamber Vice-President Karen Domnitz of Century 21 Award and continues to grow under her leadership. Tickets will be available for purchase soon (stay tuned).
We continue to work on an
important initiative this year, our “Shop Local” project. While convincing our neighbors to shop local, we must set the example ourselves. I encourage each chamber member to actively promote fellow Chamber members and local Ramona businesses by patronizing our member businesses and Ramona businesses in general. The next time you need merchandise or business service, check out the Ramona Chamber Membership list for local businesses that can meet your needs. Pay them a visit or call them! KEEP IT LOCAL!
And please, I implore you to get involved and become an active member in the Ramona Chamber of Commerce. We are a family sharing common interests and common goals, and you can make a lifetime of friends within the Chamber. And we have fun while working hard for our members and our town. You don’t know what you are missing! I invite all to come and find out. We are very welcoming, helpful and interested in your success.
