We are in it together

The right time to choose ahealthier lifestyle

During pregnancy, you directly provide the essential nutrients your child needs for proper growth and development. It's therefore the right time to choose a healthier lifestyle, not only during pregnancy, but also aer your baby is born.

Whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may have questions about how to develophealthier habits for you and your baby, such as eating more fruit and vegetables and drinking enough water. You might ask yourself:

Motherhoodis an amazingjourney

You are not alone on this amazing journey. Your family, your friends and your community are alsoinvolved. So are professionals like midwives, obstetricians and health visitors, who are ready to advise you and discuss your concerns and doubts.

Emma, Health Visitor“I can support you and your child through the early years, and help you to ensure his or her health and proper development, whatever your baby's unique needs are."

Victor, Obstetrician“My job is to accompany you through your pregnancy, to ensureyou and your baby are healthy.Don’t miss our appointments and try your best to follow my recommendations.”

Anna, Midwife"I am your main caregiver to support you from the time you are pregnant, during the labour and until your baby is at least ten days old. I can advise you on how to have a healthy lifestyle, and will also be able to spot any problems if they arise."

Eva, General Practitioner"I will work with you and your maternity care givers to ensure that you have the best pregnancy experience possible. I will help you in very early pregnancy – or before – to programme the necessary tests and exams, and will continue to give care to your growing family."

Which of my eating habits shouldI change for my baby's health?

How can I become healthier duringmy pregnancy?

How does my weight affect me and my baby’s health?

Why is breastfeeding better for me andmy baby?

How can I manage to breastfeed whilst continuing to work and do other activities?

How should I manage my weightduring and aer pregnancy?

What kind and how much exercise should I do during my pregnancy?
