Coastal Botanical Gardens
We’ll be taking a trip to the
Botanical Gardens on Thursday,
June 23rd. The Coastal Maine
Botanical Gardens comprises 270
acres of tidal shore land with many
different exhibits and beautiful
landscapes. Cost is $20 per person.
$25 including a bag lunch (or you
can eat there at own cost) 10
person minimum. Please sign up at
the front desk or call 626.7777. First
come, first serve. Van leaves at 8:00
and will return at 2:00.

Healthy Aging Expo 8th Annual

Survivor Gabon winner at the Cohen Center!
Bob Crowley, winner of Survivor
Gabon will be doing a special
presentation, along with his
daughter Page, about their camp:
Maine Forest Yurts and their non-
profit fundraiser: Durham Warriors
Challenge that helps raise money
for Veterans.
In 2008 Bob was selected to
compete on the hit CBS reality TV
Show: Survivor: Gabon and 39 days
later he was voted the oldest win-
ner in the show’s history as well as
Sprint’s fan favorite of the season.
After Bob retired from teaching
high-school physics for 25 years,
him and his family started Maine
Forest Yurts, which offers individuals,
couples, families and group an eco
-friendly, camping experience
where guests can connect with the
Maine Outdoors.

Library as she takes us on a virtual tour to the past! Classes are

We are looking to start some new, fun and exciting activities here at

Spirit Readings Would you like to connect with
your loved ones who have passed on or do you just want to
experience a Spirit Reading? Medium Francine McEwen uses
her clairvoyant abilities to connect with loved ones who have passed to Spirit. Francine’s Readings have brought comfort and healing to
those who are grieving. The Messages received from Spirit help us understand that our loved ones
never really left us, but have passed on to the Spirit world and are waiting to connect with us.
Readings will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from
1:00 to 4:00 PM and are $25 for each 1/2 hour. Call us at 626-7777
for your private appointment. No walk-ins.

life into the spirit world? Here’s
your chance! Medium Francine
McEwen will offer a new two-hour
workshop called “Spirit 101” for
beginners and anyone interested
in Spirit communication. The
workshop will focus on the stages,
signs and the sharing of the spirit
communication process. Two
sessions of Sprit 101 will be offered
on Thursday, June 30th from
1:00 - 3:00 and from 5:00 - 7:00.
Workshop cost is $25 and
pre-registration is required.

Elder Abuse Awareness Month World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEADD) was launched on June, 15, 2006
by the international Network for Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations.
The purpose of WEADD is to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older
persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.
Join us on Wednesday, June 15th and wear purple to show your support and
raise awareness for elder abuse. We will be raffling off prizes for those who can correctly answer some FAQ’s about Elder Abuse during lunch.
An extra dollar donation is suggested.
Medicare 101 Clinics Are you new to Medicare or do you want to learn more about the
Medicare coverage you have? We offer a monthly clinic to discuss
Medicare options for plan coverages, benefits, how to avoid penalties and
ways to help pay for your Medicare plans. Our certified State Health
Insurance assistance Program (SHIP) specialist will provide a 90 minute
session. We do not sell insurance, but provide education about Medicare.
Registration is required. Significant others are welcomed, but must be
registered for the Medicare Clinic, too. A $15 donation is suggested per
person. Clinic is being held on Tuesday, June 14th, 5:00.
Caregiver Support Group Caregiving can be a frustrating, lonely road. Stress, worries, guilt... These
can be some of the normal feelings when caring for someone else's health and personal needs. It can be a physical and emotional
challenge.
Our Family Caregiver Support Program is here to listen, to care, to help. The support group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from Noon to 1:00. All are welcome. For more information, call our consumer
helpline at 1-800-639-1553. Next meeting is being help on Tuesday, June 14th.
Legacy Corps Spectrum Generations Legacy
Corps program provides volunteer-based, companionship respite
support to physically disabled and or elderly disabled veterans and
their families in central Maine. This award winning program carefully
matches trained volunteers to veterans and military families. We
are currently seeking members (volunteers) and clients. If you or

the pre-labeled CLYNK bags for your home. They
are in the coat closet on the shelf. All funds raised
support the Cohen Center!
**Monday’s are catered by Cohen on the Meadows Catering and $6.00 is required by all.
**Tuesday - Friday a donation of $5.00/meal for individuals 60 and older is suggested. If under age 60, a fee of $6.00 is required. (Unless noted otherwise)
Lunch is served Mon-Fri from 11:00 - 12:30
Words on Wheels (WOW) WOW provides books and other materials to our
homebound seniors. Our lending library is
compromised of many books and we look forward to
sharing them with our Meals on Wheels consumers!
