The crux of Sanjeevini is a database of all the medical facilities available in the area, which
is being continuously updated like a live feed over a secure 3G CDMA connection. The aimis to connect the healer and the healed without barriers.
The core of the database is a network of the basic health care services like ambulances, hospitals, blood banks, oxygen centers, emergency and trauma care centers, chemistsand the like(to be referred to as RESOURCES henceforth). The database consists of a list ofmedical practitioners, enrolled with us, whose availability will be constantly monitored.
The subscriber would require a 3G enabled phone with built-in GPS capability. The healthcenters enlisted with us would require to maintain a database of their facilities and keep itregularly updated.
The basic idea of the service is to bridge the existing gap between the patients and themedi-care world, so as to dispense treatment in a speedy way. Working collaboratively, wehope to ensure and promote a healthy environment for the population, facilitate the workof the medical community and also assist business and industry.
The plan reflects the commitment of the agency to ensure a solid base on which we canbuild our services.

The application divides the entire information available in the database into four entities:
Patient profile entity which contains medical details of the patient(subscriber)
Patient request entity which the subscriber uses to avail of the services as per
requirement Doctor entity which lists and also indicates the availability status of the medical
specialists
Treatment provision entity which monitors the dispatch of services from the RESOURCES
Person subscribed with us opens the Sanjeevini application on his mobile handset torequest for a medi-care service. Based on his current location Sanjeevini generates a list
of the nearest available RESOURCES.
Immediately the health care institute recommended to the patient is alerted to equipitself to administer to the needs of the patient. The patient profile is forwarded to themso that the authorities are aware of the medical history of the patient beforehand.
An important feature of Sanjeevini is the Location Based Service(LBS) available tovictims of accidents and heart attacks while on the move. Using in built GPS
capability in the customer’s handset, the location of the caller is tracked and anambulance is sent to be taken to the nearest hospital.
Ambulances equipped with GPS will reach the accident site quickly. Emergencytechnicians in the ambulance will transmit pictures of the victim and his status over the3G connection to the local emergency departments.

Sanjeevini is an area-specific service. However the databases of the different regions
through out India would be linked. This venture is mainly focused on the urban areas.

Initially intended to operate at major cities targeting all the users of the 3G CDMA
services.

Research indicates that there is increased
awareness amongst people regarding the role ofnew technologies in health care. Hence it isconcluded that Sanjeevini will be accepted by themasses and our customer base would besufficiently strong.
Focusing on health care sector helps introduce the new 3G technology into the Indianmarket as a necessity, rather than a luxury. Since no person undermines his or his families’ health, an efficient service as this is sure to draw customers.
Population growth of around 1.5 p.c. per annum & increase in life expectancy to 69 yearshas definitely created a demand for an efficient & a faster way of information regarding
health care. There is a definite need for transparency of medical services provided toeveryone seeking it.
A definite advantage is the absence of similar services in the market. Though the conceptof telemedicine has been explored, no fully comprehensive service making full use of theexisting technology, as Sanjeevini, has been developed yet.

Revenue is generated both from medical service subscriber & medical serviceprovider. It comes across as a social and user friendly initiative, which will go a long
way in promoting Sanjeevini & its use.
Studies by the department of health & human services
reveal that the growth in national health expenditures acquiring major portion of the GDP by 2015 indicates the willingness of our country to invest on health based services & the emphasis laid on it.
Introducing 3G & GPS technology through medical services would helppopularize the technology which can be later extended to provide servicespertaining to entertainment, lifestyle, travel etc.

More number of diseases caused now are mainly lifestyle related & hence need constantmonitoring & care.
Due to rapid growth of technological
facilities such as sensors installed in phones
to monitor cardiac & diabetic patients,
EMRs, Digital pens to record medical forms,
receipts & paper documents this service can
be easily integrated along with these technologies creating a very efficient coordinated service.
Favourable increase in percentage of working class
population, growing general awareness, literacy rates and
patient preferences in healthcare decisions indicates the
critical need of such a service.

Privacy issues : The information of the patient or the service seeker after his location &
status is received needs to be carefully forwarded to the right medical service provider.
Objections raised by the medical community regarding sourcing of their databases andletting it be a part of our service.
Loss of GPS tracking would prove fatal .
Issues in acceptance of this modality by society, patients, family physicians, specialists, administrators and the Government would hinder the service’s growth.
Economic feasibility of such plans in India, considering the majority of the population
belong to the lower strata of society.
Lack of awareness of the use of the latest technologies, amongst the general public.
