Mako Boardsports wants you to design their travel case; the ultimate travel companion that’s practical, stylish and fully embraces the Mako spirit of adventure. This document outlines the design requirements and submission guidelines for the Mako Boardsports Travel Case Design Competition sponsored by SOLIDWORKS®.

The Mako Slingshot jetboard has generated a ton of interest and excitement since its launch to a global marketplace. The Mako jetboard is about a love for water, being present and immersed in the moment, and a relaxed attitude. Contest Design Brief

To celebrate the launch of the Mako Slingshot jetboard and the joy of being in the element, Mako Boardsports has teamed up with SOLIDWORKS® to offer you the chance to grab a piece of the action! Mako Boardsports want you to design its new travel case; the ultimate travel companion that’s practical, stylish and fully embraces the Mako spirit of adventure and defining your moment. Your design must be unique, practical for travelling, and have the ability to be a mass produced product. It should be the perfect travel case to protect and carry the Mako Slingshot and your chosen essentials for a weekend road trip or onboard an airplane for an overseas excursion.

Submission Details

Please reference the Official Rules of the contest for more details on submission rules and eligibility. To enter, eligible users must complete the following steps to submit an entry. Please log on to the competition website at www.solidworkscontest.com and register by completing all required fields and submit the following files:

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Design Model: SOLIDWORKS® Assembly or Part (file must include parametric feature history)

CAD Drawing: SOLIDWORKS® DrawingPDF: Containing a minimum of 3 rendered images of your design, and supporting documentation outlining key functional features, chosen materials and other design considerations. Answers: You must answer the following questions when you submit your entry online: (a) a detailed description of how your design meets the contest requirements, (b) a description of why you think your design is original and should be selected as the winning design, and (c) a description of how you used SOLIDWORKS® tools to create your model.Requirements: The submitted CAD files must be created using a licensed version of SOLIDWORKS® 2015 or later. Submitted entries must adhere to the requirements outlined in this document and be created and owned solely by the applicant. Submitted files are required to be compressed into a single ZIP or RAR file with a maximum file size of 500Mb. All entries must be submitted in English.
