Circulatory System

Your body has 100,000 miles of blood vessels!

Men have more red blood cells than women

During pregnancy, women have more and their blood supply will increase with approximately 3-4 lbs of blood

Can you give yourself a blood transfusion?

YES!

Blood transfusions can pass on disease – so the best precaution is to give blood to yourself.

If you know you will be having surgery, donate blood ahead of time.
