Men have more red blood cells than women
During pregnancy, women have more and their blood supply will increase with approximately 3-4 lbs of blood
Can you give yourself a blood transfusion?
YES!
Blood transfusions can pass on disease – so the best precaution is to give blood to yourself.
If you know you will be having surgery, donate blood ahead of time.
