This project collects and shares critical genealogical information from cemeteries local to you and provides that information globally.

Contributions to this important project will provide unique and valuable information to those people who can not gather this information themselves, yet it is simple and fun to do.

This project involves the photographing of headstones and uploading the photos along with recording the information gathered onto an online database.

Submitting Photos

The minimum requirement for this project is that people send in photos.

…and that they get uploaded to the online database (Find a Grave) so that the photos and the data from them may be used by people around the world.

While I do have a second group of volunteers organized to do this addition part of the project, I, personally, would feel it a missed opportunity if people were not to create an account with Findagrave.com. There are so many great service opportunities that come

with creating an account…

Creating an account (findagrave.com)

When you sign up, you will be notified via email when someone is looking for a photograph or for information from a headstone in your area. You can fulfill these requests and they will directly benefit the person looking for the information.

There is a lot of value in the work being done for this Eagle Project, but aside from creating the amount of response required for this award, I would say that the biggest value in being involved would be to create an account and accept requests from people looking for specific date that you can provide.

Don’t worry about taking pictures of headstones that might have already been photographed. The more pictures, the better. Duplicate photos are not a problem.

Don’t forget to take this survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/72ZG7QJ

Don’t forget to check the Facebook page for any additional information

www.facebook.com/headstoneagleproject

Photos will be collected and organized by my Boy Scout Troop,

then resized and submitted to www.findagrave.com

Don’t forget to have fun!

Again, I would love any help you can offer, so if you have any questions, just ask. Thanks!!Kade McKean [email protected]
