This change will not affect our dates and we will still close as planned on Friday 2 December 2011 with the Grade 7 Leaver’s Dinner that evening and the Senior Primary Prize Giving on Saturday 3 December. 2012 Term Dates There was a typographical error on the 2012 term dates published last week. We are delighted that Nikki has kindly agreed to present two of her talks at Clifton on a public holiday (16 June) which we hope will allow as many parents as possible to attend. Nikki will be talking on “Future-Proofing Your Child” and “Parenting on the Go.” The programme for the day is: Date: Thursday 16 June 09:00 – Future-Proofing Your Child 10:00 – Tea 10:30 – Parenting on the Go Cost: R100 per person The talk has been opened to the Nottingham Road, Mooi River and Balgowan communities. Our two night trip was more than just about the sightings. The children had to unload and load the buses, collect wood for the fire, pack and unpack the fridges and become involved in the day-to-day running of a camp. The children learnt that looking at the small things in a reserve can be just as exciting as the bigger ones. Our annual kudu-dung spitting competition was won by Olivia George and Joshua Sparks. We hope that our children will retain all that they have learnt over this time.”

Parents’ Association The Swimming Pool Sub-committee has been largely finalised. The sub-committee is headed by Rowan Holt and he is assisted by Brett Bouwer, Debbie Gray, Jill Cribbins and James Jonsson. The committee is looking for one more enthusiastic parent to assist.

A target of R600 000 has been set which will completely refurbish the School pool. A tractor raffle, a car raffle and donations are part of the committee’s plans to raise funds. Please keep a look out for information from the committee regarding their plans and offer support in whatever way you can!
