Expectations

Over a 2 year period SDHC purchased 14,767 Desktop Computers at a cost of $13,482,271

Using the State of Florida contract we would have purchased 13,187 for the same expenditure.

Cost Savings

As a result of the contract, we purchased

1,579

more desktop computers .

– HP provides a credit return of 1.5 to 3.5 percent based on purchase volume.

– In the first two years of the partnershipHCPS received $615,640 in rebates back to the district.

• Software – Each laptop and desktop computer receives

instructional software valued at $150 computer as part of the standard image.

– Microsoft Office is included on all computers.

• Matching funds– HP donated $200,000 to the Hillsborough Education

Foundation to support a matching funds program for technology

• Standardization– Pre-Installed HCPS Image – Savings of personnel time– Improved response time for problem resolution– District-wide deployment of patches, fixes

• Employee and Student Purchase Plan– HP has developed and implemented a “campus store” for HCPS

students and employees.
