YOUR STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE1. What a great blank canvas we have to work with - the timber bed and white rocker you chose are the perfect staple pieces for us to start with for your

nursery! I know that you wanted a modern space, with pastel colours but not too girly, so I have added three throw pillows to add some punchy colour to the room. These cushions are the building blocks of the colour palette.

2. The forest baby blanket will work perfectly with crisp white sheets and I have added two of these gorgeous hot air balloons to hang over the cot - your baby will love the bright colours!

3. This Ikea floor lamp is great for those late night feeds and fits neatly into the corner next to your rocker. The mint green chair acts as a side table, it’s easy to move around the room if you need to and won’t take up a lot of space.

4. To the left of the cot and above the rocker is this cute yellow Hello sign - I know you wanted the space to be warm and friendly, so what better way to do this than looking at a big cheery hello every time you enter the room!

5. As you already have plenty of storage this chest of drawers will give you a place to access the items you need most. Choose trinkets within the colour palette of the cushions to adorn the top - you may even be able to use items you already have. If you need any help with the styling just send some pictures of what you have and we can brainstorm and have a play around together and see what works!

6. On the wall where the cot is I have chosen this delicate love heart wallpaper - I know that you wanted to include hearts in the room somewhere - and this pattern will give the room WOW factor, but without overwhelming the space.

7. As you want to give the room a fresh coat of paint also I would suggest Dulux Off White in a low sheen acrylic for the remaining walls and Dulux White on White in a semi gloss for the architraves, skirting boards and window trims.

8. The white cotton Ikea Merete curtains you have can be given a new lease of life by adding a 20cm vertical panel of the Malin Circkle fabric to the inside section of each curtain panel (see diagram). I know you were itching for some DIY!

9. The two art prints can be hung vertically above the dresser (see diagram) I love how the Let’s Get Lost print ties in with the Hot Air Balloons.
