Before I came to Hawaii on 2008, I view Hawaii as a paradise because of the various majestic photographs that I saw when I browse the internet. Tourism is the one thing that Hawaii is known for because of its beautiful sunrise and sunset that is picture perfect for many tourists. Hawaii has myriad of beautiful beaches, towering volcanoes, lush valleys, and other stunning sceneries spread throughout the islands. When I hear the word Hawaii, it also brings back an unpleasant part of history where the brave American soldiers fought the Japanese empire which then ignited the Second World War. Hawaiian Islands were situated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Everyone is astonished with its beauty, some tourist were describing it as paradise of the Pacific due to its tropical climate. Hawaii is a conglomeration of many ethnicities with different cultural backgrounds. Hawaii is more than just its beautiful sceneries; it also offers a very colorful culture that welcomes its guest with a warm aloha. I lived in Kauai for almost 6 years, which is known as the Garden Island due to its diverse wildlife and lush valleys and mountains. Unlike the island of Kauai, Oahu is the city part, which has tall buildings and considered the center of commerce and sophisticated lifestyle. With a perfect and climate and multiple adventures to do, Hawaii was one of the most astounding places I have traveled to. Hawaii has limitless and numerous qualities it offers to its visitors and to the local in the island. With the wonderful culture and welcoming spirit of Aloha from the people of Hawaii, beautiful landscape of beaches and picture perfect sceneries, Hawaii seems like heaven and a dream place to be. Even though living in Hawaii has some disadvantages like tropical storms, high cost of living, threat of losing their culture, and modernization, Hawaiians were open minded in the islands’ advancement to economic prosperity. The preservation of Hawaiian tradition is given importance by the government so that the tourist and its visitors will continue to see the richness of their culture. I hope to explore more of the mystical legends and culture of Hawaii as I continue to live in the island.
