Harrow Weald CampusHealth & Social Care Building

Following the successful completion of their new building for students with learning difficulties, Harrow College are delighted to have secured grant funding from the London enterprise Partnership towards another new building, the Health & Social Care Building.

The adjacent site plan shows the location of the proposed building to the south east corner of the Harrow Weald campus. Following the completion of the proposed, it is intended that the Gaskell building will be demolished.

The proposal forms the next step for Harrow College in providing bespoke teaching facilities as part of their evolving Care Campus.

The new building will facilitate the delivery of high quality health and social care training at Levels 1,2,3,4 and above. The centre will provide training for approximately 300 learners per annum. Approximately 25% of those learners will be aged 16-18 and the remainder will be 19+.

The building design has been carefully developed to integrate with and enhance the Harrow Weald campus setting. There is a simple palette of materials; brick, glazing and a zinc coated standing seam roof that wraps around the profile of the building.

The design has been developed within a concept of linking the landscaped exterior with the inside, sustainable passive design and creating bright vibrant spaces. The corner of the building is fully glazed at ground floor forming a clear main entrance area, drawing people into the reception and atrium space.
