Treatment routinely includes assessment, diagnosis, prescription and administration of psychotropic medications, group and individual therapy, psycho-education, and reviews of medical health history. Individualized recovery plans are developed in collaboration with the client to address presenting problems and design a plan of action to achieve goals. These plans are reviewed and updated regularly throughout the client’s recovery process. Crisis evaluations are performed as needed. the pharmaceutical, Clozaril. Agreements and protocols with the drug manufacturer are in place to treat individuals and provide the close monitoring and maintenance required with treatment. The program includes working toward linking clients to NA/AA supports. Random urine specimens and breath analysis are utilized to monitor progress toward recovery. Activities include: Supper socials, trips to NYC, RI, Mystic, games, group projects, Women’s/Men’s groups, arts groups, pre-employment groups, etc. O P T I O N S E M P L O Y M E N T S E R V I C E S OPTIONS Employment Services provides a wide range of services to support clients in their effort to obtain competitive employment or to explore career options. The program is client-driven with the staff and client working as a team to identify the client’s interests, preferences, vocational strengths, employment barriers, and special needs. Individuals

are trained in job seeking, placement and retention skills. J A I L D I V E R S I O N This program provides rapid assessment, triage and referral to services for persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues who become involved with the criminal justice system. In addition to assessment, referral and case management, staff may also make treatment recommenda-tions to the criminal justice and/or court personnel. C R I S I S S E R V I C E S Any call to HHSI after normal business hours is answered by a professional medical answering service. After initial triage, when necessary, the answering service will arrange for telephone contact with a licensed behavioral health clinician to assist the caller within 10 minutes. When appropriate HHSI has the capacity to summon a mental health professional to the site (within a six town service area) of an unresolved crisis between 9 am and 10 pm. HARP provides an intensive level of supervision with on-site support to assist with the activities of daily living, to foster development of a maximum level of functioning, and introduce and encourage the use of natural supports. Respite services provide temporary on-site supervision due to increased symptoms or individuals discharged from the hospital who require continued supervision. Harbor House Harbor House is an eight bed, continually staffed adult psychiatric community residence that provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment in the community in which residents with serious and persistent mental illness are

assisted in achieving their highest degree of independent functioning and recovery. The program provides structured activities targeted at encouraging clients to reach maximum potential.
