Train ing schoo l arc busy with preparations for Christmas. A trip to these rooms shows many artistic and attractive decorations.
The first things that meet your eye arc the Jo, el y Ch ristm,s scenes on e,ch of the doors. These pictures have appea red each yc.ir since 1912 when Pltty Markee Brill drew the first ones.
The children in all three grades h"'·c been m,king dccor.itions for the room and for the Christmas trees. They h:wc also been m:tking gifts fo r their parents. The fir st graders hl\·c made stationerr port folios for their mothers and memo pads for their fathers.

In third grade you wil l find a variety of gifts including jingle cones, candles, w,11 p laques, candle holders and other table decor>tio ns.
Spirit of Yuletide Seen in Art Room
Anyone stopping at the Art Depa rtment will find a constant buzz of activity, as students under the d irection of Miss Edna Ca rlsten p repare for Ch ristmas in a score of diffe rent ways. Besides working on decorat ion s for the annual Christmas concert, many othe r p rojects are in the making. Art IO '\ is proceeding with stage decorations for the co nce rt. Large a luminum foil stars wi ll decorate a background of green, red, and black in a conventional pattern.
The freshman art class is working on a display in conjunct ion with a Wild Life Exhibit b)' the State Conserv:1.tion dC'p,1rtment. It is spo nso red by the Chambe r of Commerce during the holid ,1ys for the children of Porlagc County. Large cardboa rd cutou ts of amusing animals will be used besides the (;lgcs of live ani m.ds.

Almost every room has some decoration for Christmas, from miniat ure trees to red bells on the doors. The office is fest ive with green boughs and red berries. The ma in bulletin board has a la rge poster o_f the Star of Bethlehem. In the living roo m a tiny Santa dri ves hi s reindeer ac ross th e snow on o ur fireplace, and a c reche adorns the rad io. (A big gift of gratitude to Betty Furstenberg who supervised the gra nd job of decorat ing) 1 The dining room, too, says " J\!erry Chri stmas", with frosty branches, red candles, and sh in y Christmas tree ornaments. Dormites at di nn er fill the room with mu sic as they si ng the old sweet songs of Chri stmas.
